It’s true: Epcot’s Future World lost a dining location when Electric Umbrella closed its doors over the weekend. This expected closure came as just one part of the massive transformation currently taking place at Epcot.
And even as we say goodbye to some old haunts, we are MORE than excited about what’s to come, both in the years ahead and in the near future with one of the presumed highlights being the Space 220 Restaurant, currently under construction right by the Mission: SPACE attraction!
So, let’s take a peek!
While we’ve been keeping an eye out for any and all updates on this dining location which will deliver guests to the Centauri Space Station, today brings us a first glimpse at a bit of newly revealed exterior décor of Space 220!
We can at last make out paint colors in hues of blue including a bold blue circle within the design, peeking out from behind the greenery and fences (reminders of our home here on earth 😉 ).
It is exciting to see progress on this highly anticipated location, especially since the opening — originally slated for the end of 2019 — has met with delays.
But it hasn’t slowed down our excitement about Space 220 one bit. And if you feel the same, you’ll want to learn everything you need to know BEFORE Space 220 Restaurant opens!

I am stalking the dining reservation site daily, hoping to score and ADR for my trip in August.
We were just there on 10 day park pass and spent 4 days at Epcot. We were very disappointed that space 220 didn’t open as scheduled end of 2019. Also, very disappointed Regal Eagle wasn’t open either. Menu had been out quite some time before we arrived. We did enjoy riding new gondolas right outside epcot and that electric umbrella was still open during our vacation.
Very excited for this but, I would call it an utter failure if they do not open by the end of 2/20
I am waiting to snag one for May trip!! Lets go!!!
Hoping to grab a reservation for our trip in March (if it’s open by then); is there any indication at all when they will start taking reservations?
I know it’s a long shot, but I’m so hoping to get reservations for Space 220 for our March 10-13th trip 🤞🏼
Wanting to get reservations in May, and to know if this will be part of the Disney Dining Plan.
Adam, ADRs aren’t available yet, and there’s been no info about Disney Dining Plan announced officially.
I’m willing to be a kidney that Space 220 DOES NOT OPEN on 2/20/20 as promised!!!!
For our April trip, we’ve already made an ADR for Prime 50’s Diner instead. I just hope I don’t forget to keep my elbows off the dining room table…
@Nancy I think Regal Eagle will be opening any day now as they had a cast member preview to sample the food yesterday.
I will be making my very first trip to Disney in June. Hoping Space 220 will be open. Have been checking every day for the opening updates. Although I am elderly, I am as excited as a kid to visit Disney.
