Mayor Jerry Demings has placed a curfew for residents of Orange County, Florida which includes Orlando and parts of Walt Disney World Resort.
The nightly curfew begins tonight at 11 PM and runs until 5 AM until further notice.
According to The Orlando Sentinel, Florida cases have been surging in recent days with over 500 infected and at least 10 deaths reported as of press time. When issuing the order, Mayor Demings stated enforcing this new policy is not intended to arrest people who disobey but to stop the spread of coronavirus among the community.
The issuance is effective immediately and at this time no end date has been given. Exceptions will be made for those traveling to and from work, first responders, and medical professionals.
