Well, it looks like Disney is embarking on another remake of a classic film and this one is going to have us singing “Oo-de-lally!”
Disney has been spending the last few years making live-action remakes of some favorite Disney movies. We’ve seen Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Dumbo, and Lady and the Tramp recently. Well, now it looks like Disney+ is getting another live-action/CG feature with a new Robin Hood.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Robin Hood is getting remade with Blindspotting director Carlos Lopez Estrada directing and Lady and the Tramp writer Kari Granlund working on the script. Robin Hood is a movie that some love and some feel indifferent too, but you can’t deny that lute-playing rooster doesn’t have pipes.
The new film will feature the characters as anthropomorphic animals created using CG and live-action applications.
The flick will be produced by Justin Springer who helped to produce Dumbo and Tron Legacy. All of the deals for the new film were signed before the current Hollywood shut down and the film is still in very early development.
We’ll let you know as we hear more about the newest live-action remake!

Ever since I found out they were remaking West Side Story, all the Disney remakes seem less dire by comparison. ;P
Robin Hood is one of my favorite Disney movies. Not too many people I know care for it but I’ve always loved it. If they make a live action remake I will see it but I’m not sure if I will like it. I have only seen Beauty and the Beast and Jungle Book of the live action remakes. I prefer the OG cartoon versions
Robin Hood is one of my favorite cartoons and it doesn’t need a remake. The only one if their live action remakes I’ve seen is Beauty & the Beast and I have no intention of seeing any of the others.
We love Robin Hood .. if they do this live they need to stick the the cartoon way and make them live .. and don’t make a twist and all new added just make it live .. and keep in the songs like they did with Lion King and Beauty & the Beast
Robin Hood is my absolute FAVORITE Disney movie and always has been. This is amazing news. I could never understand why it wasn’t a huger deal in the Disney canon. The songs are great, it’s romantic, exciting, funny and by FAR the best Robin Hood adaptation out there. HOORAY.
