Shanghai Disneyland reopened after its lengthy closure just this past Monday. However, all other Disney Parks around the world — including, of course, Walt Disney World and Disneyland — remain closed until further notice in light of the current global health situation.
That said, Disney has shared some of the health and safety measures being considered for the eventual reopening of all the parks. One measure is limiting guest capacity in order to promote physical distancing. This has already been implemented with the reopening of Shanghai Disneyland, which — during this initial phase — is requiring the advance purchase of theme park tickets assigned to a date, as well as required reservations for Annual Passholders.
And now we have learned of another theme park brand implementing required reservations for entry: Six Flags.
None of the Six Flags theme parks — with locations throughout North America including, but not limited to, California, Illinois, New York, Texas, and beyond — have an official reopening date set at press time.
However, the Six Flags website is already preparing guests for their eventual return with information regarding the new Guest Reservation System that will be implemented upon the parks’ reopening. (Note that reservations are not currently being accepted.)
As seen in the screenshot above, Six Flags shares: “To facilitate limited occupancy scenarios and avoid guest disappointment at the front gate we are, for the time being, planning to require all guests to make an advance reservation prior to their arrival at the park. The reservation process is quick, easy, and will provide a safer, more fun experience for everyone.”
The page also states that guests will be required to select not only the date they wish to visit, but also the time as based on availability. Guests will only be permitted to enter during the time period they selected when making the reservation.
Six Flags has also provided a list of FAQs including topics such as cancellation of reservations (noting no penalties for canceling any time before 8:00 AM local time on their scheduled day), required pre-payment for parking, and more, including a section detailing how the process will work.
Additional information is also provided for Six Flags Members and Annual Passholders. You can read about the Reservation System and see the FAQs in full by visiting sixflags.com/reserve.
