There has been a TON of news coming out of Disney World today!
After a lengthy closure beginning back on March 16th, Disney World announced that they hope to reopen Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom on July 11th, followed by EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios on July 15th. Whenever the parks are cleared to reopen, guests can expect to experience several changes including new health and safety guidelines, required reservations for park entrance, and contactless menus in restaurants.
Earlier today, Disney World paused hotel reservations and ticket purchases. Guests may have also realized that they were unable to make advance dining reservations on the Disney World website or My Disney Experience app later in the day. Disney World has now added a message to the site confirming that dining and other experience reservations are unavailable at this time.
While the travel information page of the website indicates that “reservations will resume at a later date,” there is currently no timeframe available for when guests will once again be able to make reservations.
Disney World made its reopening proposal today, so we will continue to keep an eye on any changes in the availability of dining reservations to keep you informed.

Poor Space 220, that place has been cursed to stay in pre-opening limbo. Maybe it really will open on 2/20, in 2021.
So does no character meet and greets mean suspension of all character dining at this time?
Have you heard whether annual passholders and/or Disney vacation club members would be given any priority in making the advance ticket reservations? Have you heard of any perks being given to annual passholders and/or Disney vacation club members due to being closed throughout this time other then extending the expiration date on annual passes?
Clarice, no word yet on the character dining, but we’re looking into it. As for APs and DVC: Disney has said they’ll be able to make reservations now even though reservations are paused for the general public as Disney manages the current reservations they have in the system. Hopefully we’ll get more details soon!
I am hopeful, we have a trip booked and i made ADR’s this week. We are booked for two rooms in Pop. I pray that we are able to keep our trip as is. Even without character experiences and face masks.
Do you think prices will be reduced for the reduced hours, transportation, reservations, parades, nighttime shows, lack of characters, etc. or do we pay the same for less? Just wondering if anyone has heard? I go in December and there are no deals yet, no way to know what is going on then, or even if I can make ADR next week.
Jaan, no word on this yet. We might see some changes, but there’s no way to know yet.
