While Disney’s theme park industry and Disney Cruise Line have taken been closed for quite some time, film productions and movie premieres have also been delayed. These delays include several Avatar sequels James Cameron has in the works.
But according to Avatar’s producer Jon Landau’s Instagram, it looks like, “All quiet on the set!” is being called out once MORE!
Landau posted this behind-the-scenes pic of Avatar‘s set today confirming production of the highly-anticipated Avatar sequels has resumed.
Over the next few years, Disney is expected to release up to four Avatar sequels, although Cameron says his focus right now is finishing Avatar 2 and 3 before delving too much into 4 and 5.
So far, Avatar 2 is still scheduled to be released in theaters on December 17th, 2021 — over a decade after the first Avatar film debuted. This film went on to inspire an entire land at Disney World’s Animal Kingdom, Pandora: The World of Avatar! We’re eager to see what the next films are all about!
