You can bet that we spent our morning trying to nab a boarding group for Rise of the Resistance.
Plexiglass Barriers on Rise of the Resistance
Rise of the Resistance is the super high-demand ride in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge — even in the limited capacity reopening days of Hollywood Studios! If there’s one thing that’s no fun, it’s running into a glitch when boarding groups are loading. Today, when we were trying to grab our spot in the Virtual Queue, we ran into a glitch that’s pretty tiny — but it could mean the difference between you getting a boarding group or not!
We popped onto My Disney Experience right at 10AM to try to grab a spot in the first Virtual Queue window. These spots have been filling up in under a minute in some cases, so we needed to move fast. To our surprise, when we got to the “Create Your Party” screen. Thus meaning our name wasn’t pre-selected to join a group!
Rise Glitch
We had to rush to get our name selected and by the time everything was sorted out, groups were all full! See what we mean, this little glitch could get in the way of your ride on Rise. To our surprise, this happened to us AGAIN at 1PM and caused us to miss the window to grab a boarding group. Luckily, there is more queue window today, so hopefully, we have a little more luck later!

Remember, if you have any trouble with the Virtual Queue system, take a screenshot and reach out to a Cast Member. They may be able to help! Is there any way to fix this glitch? I had it too.
I was curious about Rise of the Resistance, we rode it 3 times in Feb, 2020, there was 2 of us. With 4 people in the front, us included , and 4 people behind us. Are they only putting the people in your group in the Rise of the Resistance vehicle? As an example: If it was just 2 of us, would we be the only ones in the car? No one next to us or behind us! Thanks for your time:)
Craig, that was our experience.
Maybe the glitch is due to smart phone settings? Disney has to access your phone’s location so they know you’re in the park. Double check that on your settings?
The whole thing is messed up, my wife was on it just yesterday 7/20 at 12:59pm for the 1pm access, she refreshed her screen at one and was able to join. She selected all the names in less than 30 seconds, went to join and was told it was already full, in 30 seconds it filled? Yeah right! We told a member of the “guest experience” about the issues and they said they fill up quick, I said in 30 seconds? They then proceeded to give us a bunch of BS about the glitch in the system and all kinds of run around. I think they fill it at 10am and screw everyone else that tries to get on through the day, thats my opinion.
