When Disney World first announced its phased reopening, they implemented a mandated face mask policy for Cast Members and Guests. Since both Disney World and Disneyland (Downtown Disney) began welcoming Guests back in recent months, the face mask policies have been updated to reflect current health guidelines.
But it’s not only the policies and guidelines that have been updated! Cast Members will be sporting NEW face masks with a ‘magical’ touch!
Disney Parks Blog shared the news that Cast Members on both coasts collaborated remotely to help design brand new face masks, distributed to Cast Members at both Disney World and Disneyland!
The masks were designed by teams that included Disney Parks Live Entertainment, Worldwide Safety Services, and Global Applied Technology to provide a safe AND stylish addition to the everyday wardrobe of the ones who bring the magic to life!
The fact that Cast Members at both resorts were given the same exact mask offers a “unified Cast, one Disney ‘world’,” according to Disneyland Costume Designer Yonit Olshan. The design itself resembles the night sky, decorated with pixie dust and constellations in the shape of Mickey Mouse himself!
Next time you’re at any of the parks or resorts in Disney World or Downtown Disney in Disneyland, take a closer look at the face masks the Cast Members are wearing!
