Since the reopening, we’ve seen some pretty reduced hours at Disney World’s theme parks.
Park hours were also shortened further starting September 8th. But, today we spotted a single day on the calendar in September where it appears one park’s hours will be extended.
After the reopening, but prior to September 8th, park hours for the Disney World theme parks were as follows: Magic Kingdom — 9AM to 7PM, EPCOT — 11AM to 9PM, Disney’s Hollywood Studios — 10AM to 8PM, Disney’s Animal Kingdom — 8AM to 6PM.
Beginning on September 8th, those hours were reduced to the following: Magic Kingdom — 9AM to 6PM, EPCOT — 11AM to 7PM, Disney’s Hollywood Studios — 10AM to 7PM, Disney’s Animal Kingdom — 9AM to 5PM.
But, today, when we looked at the park hours calendar for September, we noticed that the hours for Disney’s Animal Kingdom have been extended for Sunday, September 20th.
Instead of the shortened hours of 9AM to 5PM, the park will be open from 9AM to 6PM. The hours don’t appear to have been extended for any of the other parks or for any of the other days in September.
We’re not sure what has caused this change for this particular date. The 20th is not a national holiday, and although weekends can be busier in the parks, it does not appear that any of the other weekends have extended park hours in September. It is possible that this will eventually be changed back to the shortened hours of 9AM to 5PM, but for now it looks like guests may get one extra hour to enjoy the Tree of Life on September 20th. We’ll keep looking into this and let you know if we see any update. Be sure to come back for all the latest Disney news!
