We were strolling through World Showcase today when we spotted a bit of a surprise.

Italy Construction

EPCOT is certainly Disney World’s biggest work in progress. Between the Future World construction and upcoming attractions, the EPCOT Transformation is in full swing. That means we tend to see a LOT of construction. Today though, we spotted some construction we WEREN’T expecting.

The Italy Pavilion looks a little bit different. The edge of the pavilion, bordering the American Adventure Pavilion, has a LOT of construction barriers up that are new to the area. What a surprise!

We’ve spotted a few behind-the-scenes building permits for the Italy Pavilion but they haven’t had significant details. So we’re really not sure what mysterious work is going on behind these walls.

The construction does stretch all the way around to The American Adventure Pavilion so it’s pretty significant. Cast Members we spoke to weren’t sure about what the construction could be either. Although, they were able to tell us that the work is not for the Pin Traders location that used to be in this spot.
