At a press conference this morning, Governor Ron DeSantis announced that Florida is moving into Phase 3 of reopening.
One significant aspect of Phase 3 is that restaurants will no longer be subject to capacity restrictions (which were previously set at 50% in Phase 2). Phase 3 is effective immediately.
Under Phase 3, Governor DeSantis shared that local governments will require state approval if they wish to restrict the reopening of a restaurant.
Additionally, Phase 3 will allow locations such as bars, pubs, and nightclubs which earn more than 50% of sales from alcohol to operate at full capacity, with limited social distancing guidelines. And do note, that the Orange County mask mandate remains in place in Phase 3.
In April 2020 it was proposed under Phase 3 that “Theme parks may return to normal operations with limited social distancing protocols.”
As we discussed in a previous article, when it comes to Disney World dining locations and guest capacity, even though the state has lifted capacity restrictions, that doesn’t necessarily mean Disney will be changing their current capacity limitations in the immediate future. But we will be keeping you posted as this story develops.
