Disney’s newest fireworks show Harmonious, has been in talks for some time.
This show has been on our minds for a WHILE and with the park closures, we’re not too sure when we’ll finally get to see it hit the waters of World Showcase Lagoon. So, it’s pretty exciting whenever we see a potential sign of work on the area of Harmonious — and we saw a sign today!
Today’s permit was filed for the address coded to EPCOT’s Marina Entertainment building, located behind the scenes next to the Fireworks Trailer. The internal permit, filed with Disney’s own Buena Vista Construction Company (BVCC), calls for work to “Provide labor, material and/or electrical for construction.”
Disney’s permits with BVCC tend to be this vague, so we’re not sure what kind of work is being done here. The permit is not filed by Imagineering, so it’s entirely possible that the construction is more standard maintenance or structural preparations for upcoming entertainment.
On the other hand, BVCC does tend to work on upcoming Disney attractions and entertainment. Plus, we’ve seen permits filed for the nearby Fireworks Trailer recently and Disney even ran some fireworks tests as well. The permit could be related to getting Harmonious up and running.
We still haven’t heard an updated opening date for EPCOT’s upcoming nighttime spectacular and fireworks remain suspended in Disney World. So, stay tuned for the latest news about Harmonious! We’ll be keeping an eye out!
