Ever wished you could trick-or-treat at The Haunted Mansion?
That would be the ultimate Halloween experience! Well now you can…virtually!
For the first time ever, Mars Wringly is taking trick-or-treating virtual with their TREAT TOWN app! Once you download the app, you can create a virtual door, and sign up as a candy giver or trick-or-treater. Candy givers can buy candy credits and allow family and friends (or anyone) from across the country to virtually trick-or-treat at their house.
Trick-or-treaters can virtually visit neighbors’ and friends’ homes and collect candy credits, which they can then redeem for real candy!
You’ll even be able to visit some surprise locations through the app like…The Haunted Mansion! Now through October 31st, you can virtually visit The Haunted Mansion for a unique trick-or-treating experience from the comfort of your own home. Through the app, you’ll get a look at the characters and some of the icons from this classic attraction. You’ll also be able to unlock special costumes from Disney. A new costume will be released each day, so you’ll definitely want to hurry back.
From what we could tell, you can only access the Haunted Mansion features on this app through a trick-or-treater profile. At least when we were on the app, we couldn’t seem to find the Haunted Mansion feature through the candy giver profile. On the trick-or-treater profile, you can see the Haunted Mansion image in the top left corner of the screen.
Trick-or-treaters can click that and “knock” on the Mansion’s door and select a trick or a treat!
SPOILER WARNING! If you want the tricks and treats to be a surprise, skip down a bit! But, if you’re all for ruining surprises, check out what we found!
For the “Trick” option, we saw this screen saying that a ghost would follow us home! We’ll start getting our guest room ready.
In the “treat” section, trick-or-treaters can check out the various virtual costumes available and use them on their monster characters.
More costumes are on the way, leading up to Halloween, so trick-or-treaters will definitely want to check back for more updates!
Overall, it was a cute experience. Something little ones will probably really enjoy! Please note that the app specifies trick-or-treaters must be under the age of 18.
If you’re headed to Disney Springs, you can also stop by the West Side to start some virtual fun and games. The TREAT TOWN app is available on iOS and Android devices through October 31st. There are lots of videos on the TREAT TOWN website explaining exactly how to use the app for both trick-or-treaters and candy givers.
In addition to The Haunted Mansion, trick-or-treaters can check out some other cool locations like SKITTLES Rainbow to get exclusive items they won’t be able to find anywhere else in the app.
Overall, this sounds like a great way to participate in some Halloween fun without even having to leave your couch. Plus, we love the special Disney experience you can get as well.
