Rainforest Cafe is a great spot at Disney World to see some nearly realistic animals (besides at the Jungle Cruise, of course).
This jungle-themed restaurant can be found at both Disney Springs and Disney’s Animal Kingdom! Because we’re obsessed with food (obviously), we’ve noticed that its menu has undergone some updates and price changes so we’re here to share them with you!
We visited the Rainforest Cafe a few months ago to check it out since its reopening! It recently shared this year’s Thanksgiving menu, and now its regular menu has received some changes!
Starting with the appetizers (the place where any good meal should start), we noticed a description has been added to the Chicken Quesadillas. These are described as including cajun chicken, Monterey jack cheese, cheddar cheese, and pico de gallo. They’re still priced at $14.99.
For those wanting to embark on the Awesome Appetizer Adventure, there are a couple of changes! This dish includes Chima-Cha-Chas, Crustacean Crab Dip, Cheese Sticks, Chicken Strips, and Guacamole, as well as the option to add St. Louis-style Pork Spareribs. It seems that the option to add “buffalo-style” is no longer available! This dish used to be described as shareable among three people, but that note is gone. Additionally, there has been a price increase from $10.99 to $11.99.
There are a handful of appetizers that have increased in price. The Spinach and Artichoke Dip, previously priced at $9.99, is now $12.99. The price of Chicken Strips has increased from $11.99 to $12.99. The Shrimp Scampi Flatbread once cost $13.99 but is now $14.99.
As we move on to the Soups & Salads portion of the menu, we see some changes and more prices raised! For those of you that love a little crunch in your salads, the Paradise House Salad now comes with croutons! The price of this has not changed and is still listed at $9.99. On the other hand, the Big Islander Chicken Caesar Salad has had its price increased from $19.99 to $20.99. The China Island Chicken Salad has also gone up in price from $18.99 to $19.99.
Under the Sandwiches & Burgers portion of the menu, we noticed that the Jungle Turkey Wrap now comes with coleslaw on the side in addition to your original choice of any side! For those of you who just can’t get enough carbs (we feel you), we have some potentially sad news. The spicy Pastalaya Shrimp dish no longer has the option to be served with Caribbean Rice.
Sadly for seafood lovers, another menu item that has seen a price increase is the Taste of the Islands seafood dish. This item includes Caribbean Coconut Shrimp, Dynamite Scallops and Shrimp, Blackened Tilapia topped with Pineapple Salsa, along with the choice of a side! This price has gone up from $30.99 to $31.99.
A few minor tweaks have been made to the Korean Spicy Stir-Fry, the chicken is now described as tempura-style, and the jasmine rice is no longer described as steamed.
There are also some changes to the dessert menus! The Sparkling Volcano (a gigantic brownie) was once described as being enough for three or more, but that note is no longer there! It did not mention if the portion size has changed, but the price and description remain the same. Also, the Tribal Cheesecake now includes CHOCOLATE sauce in addition to raspberry sauce! We won’t say no to that!
And that’s a wrap! Those are all the changes for now, but we’ll be sure to let you know if we notice any more. These changes are reflected across both the Disney Springs and Animal Kingdom locations! Check back with us as we update you about ALL the Disney food!
This well-loved menu item has made its way back to Woody’s Lunchbox!
