We’re back with another What’s New, and this time we’re visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios! This Park is poised for a new era as we edge closer, day by day, to the August 29 opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. But in the meantime, we’re bringing you updates to menus, merchandise, and construction!
Welcome to Epcot, where the future is now, and you can travel the world in about a one-mile-long stroll! We’re bringing you What’s New from the Park, including a brownie you’ve got to see to believe, construction progress that’s creeping along, and a view from the literal future!
What’s New in Epcot Dining
We’re back at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World to bring you a few What’s New updates from the Park! Come along as we share new construction walls (yes, new…), some new-to-us merchandise, and a couple of menu changes!
What’s New on Hollywood Studios’ Hollywood Boulevard
If there’s one thing we know for sure, it’s that the combination of salty hot dog and savory corn meal batter is a winning one… most of the time. At Casey’s Corner in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, the Corn Dog Nugget has been a favorite snack (and more recently a favorite entree — see it here!) for years, but recently we learned that things inside the nugget just aren’t the same.
That’s right: something is amiss, and we made a special trip to Casey’s to investigate. [Read more…]
Port Orleans French Quarter Resort has been home to several discoveries this past summer including Mickey-Shaped Beignets in Sassagoula Floatworks Food Court and Boozy Beignets at Scat Cats Club. And not to be left out, Saratoga Springs’ Artist’s Palette asked us to “choose them” with an Alien Dessert recently.
Our newest update from these resorts has to do with their Pizzas.
The Monte Cristo Sandwich at Woody’s Lunchbox in Hollywood Studios’ Toy Story Land has become the first “blink and you miss it” item in this new Land. The Monte Cristo is no longer available on the Lunch/Dinner menu.
Initially we were excited to see this on the menu thinking about the signature must-have Monte Cristo in Disneyland’s Cafe Orleans. However, we found this did not measure up to the Disneyland sandwich as it was more a grilled sandwich with a side of raspberry jam.
We’re back with What’s New at Disney’s Hollywood Studios this week, and it includes several menu changes, tons of cool merchandise, and a peek at current Toy Story Land and Skyliner construction (read more about the Disney World Skyliner here!)! Then, we’re skipping over to Art of Animation and Pop Century for a quick look at What’s New at the resorts! So put on your fancy pants, and let’s get our glamour on!
Update: As of January 2018, mac and cheese has returned! See our note at the end of this post!
Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has been a guest go-to for years, and the Strip Steak with Mac and Cheese has — by far — the most fans (yours truly included).
Which is why it pains us to report that the steak has changed. And the Mac and Cheese? It’s disappeared, and has been replaced with… a bed of potatoes. (Whaaaat?!) The new dish is a Grilled Flat Iron Steak with Fingerling Potatoes. [Read more…]
Well, it’s finally happened. After all of our complaining, we at-long-last have the option to add/subtract toppings from our pizzas at Via Napoli in Walt Disney World’s Epcot! (Can you believe you couldn’t add toppings of your choosing before?!)
The other pizzas have been moved to the right hand side of the menu with [Read more…]
Remember the new hot dog menu that debuted earlier this month in Tomorrowland? Well, the sign guys have been busy again, and the menu’s been updated already. Looks like the Rueben dog has been pitched to the curb and we’re left with Taco and Philly Cheese Steak dogs.
Thanks to reader Evan D., who took time out of his WDW trip to send this photo my way today!
