Character meet and greets in the Disney parks are a little different right now.
Each of the parks has character cavalcades — “mini parades” that allow guests to see their favorite characters strolling through the park for a short time. However, we’ve also seen a number of physically distanced meet and greets in Disney World, like Buzz in Tomorrowland, Captain Jack in Adventureland, and Winnie the Pooh next to the Imagination Pavilion. The character meets have also changed over in Galaxy’s Edge, and today we noticed some new differences…namely an outfit change with one of our heroes!
While strolling through the streets of the Black Spire Outpost on planet Batuu, we happened to spot some of our friends from the Resistance — Rey and Chewbacca!
These two used to wander through the streets with the guests, but due to the COVID-19 health precautions, they now interact from a distance, usually in this area.
But today, it was pretty chilly on this terrestrial planet, and we noticed that Rey made a wardrobe change!
Typically wearing a sleeveless shirt, she now donned a winter cloak to keep warm on her adventures for the Rebellion. Chewie didn’t have any costume changes, but who needs a jacket when you’re covered in fur?!
We’ve seen several other characters in Walt Disney World getting holiday makeovers, so we’re glad to notice that Rey gets to bundle up for the winter months! We’ll be on the lookout for any more character changes or updates, especially as the parks get more crowded during the holiday season.
