Pics! See EPCOT's Harmonious Construction from a Bird's Eye View!

Nighttime spectaculars are still more or less on pause in Disney World right now, with a few minor exceptions like projections and light pyro on Cinderella Castle, Tower of Terror, and the Tree of Life.

Fireworks are a BIG piece of a classic Disney vacation, so we’re waiting patiently for them to return. Luckily, Disney has continued work on EPCOT’s upcoming nighttime show, Harmonious, and now we’ve got an UPDATE from above!

Thanks to @bioreconstruct on Twitter, we’ve got a new glimpse of the behind-the-scenes construction on Harmonious. The pilot last flew over the area about a month ago and things look a little bit different since then. The major barges, including the centerpiece ring barge, are still docked in the same place as workers prepare the technology.

The center of World Showcase Lagoon has a few platforms installed already. These latest pictures make a circular pattern of buoys clear. It’s possible that these are in use to mark the position of platforms and barges in the finalized show set-up.

This next picture gives us an idea of just how large these barges are. Each one looks about twice as long as the path around the World Showcase is wide. We got a peek at the ring barge in person and it was MASSIVE.

Once the barges are complete, they’ll need to be moved through the World Showcase drawbridge and into the center of the lagoon where they will remain as a daytime fountain, unlike Illuminations where the barges entered and exited each day.
