While lots of things have reopened or begun being offered again at Disney World, fireworks are still temporarily suspended, and boy do we miss belting out the Happily Ever After song and tearing up as those fireworks light up the sky above us.
And while fireworks have returned in a small way at Magic Kingdom as part of the holiday Castle projection show, some Disney guests recently got the chance to see even MORE fireworks during a test that was done near Magic Kingdom, and we’re sharing a peek at those fantastic fireworks with you!
Earlier this year, Disney did some fireworks testing and we got to see some of them as they lit up the sky! Last night, some fireworks testing occurred near Magic Kingdom again. A huge thank you to our awesome reader Tim Macy for emailing us two great videos of the fireworks testing, which we grabbed some screenshots from to share with all of you! Some of the fireworks lit up with that beautiful gold color at first…
…followed by some little bits of red and green — appropriate for the holiday season!
What a beautiful sight!
But wait, there’s more! We start with a little bit of anticipation — the fireworks light up the sky briefly as they’re shot up in the air and then…
…BAM! Some beautiful red colors appear over Space Mountain, with Cinderella Castle off to the left in the distance.
And, as quickly as they appear, they fade away into the darkness.
This was just a fireworks test, but any glimpse of fireworks can be awesome for those missing that part of the magic! We’re not sure when firework shows will return to Disney World, but we’re definitely keeping an eye out for any updates and will let you know what we find. In the meantime, there are some fun projections in Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom, as well as character cavalcades and more for everyone to enjoy throughout the holiday season!

The best fireworks displays in the world, by far, bar none…are at Walt Disney World. I have always said that, and I am sure I will continue to say that. You have not experienced the best unless you visit either the Magic Kingdom or Epcot. The Best….
