Due to the global health crisis, Tokyo Disney Resort shut down last year, along with all of Disney’s other parks locations.
The resort’s theme parks reopened in July and eventually saw the return of nighttime fireworks and parades, as well as character meet and greets in the fall. Now, they’re taking a step back and reducing hours in their theme parks.
Japan has recently seen an uptick in COVID-19 cases, resulting in a recent travel ban on non-resident foreign travelers coming into the country. It seems this massive surge in cases has also affected Tokyo Disney Resort. Disney has announced that both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea will have reduced hours through January.
According to the official Tokyo Disney Resort website, hours for both parks will be reduced by an hour, changing from 9AM til 9PM to 9AM til 8PM from now until January 31st. This is “based on the requests from local authorities in Japan.” Attractions, entertainment, shops, and restaurants will operate with reduced capacities or be closed.
We’ll continue to keep an eye on the situation and keep you updated on the latest.
