Unexpected downtimes for Disney World rides and attractions are not uncommon and happen on an almost daily basis. However, unannounced full-day closures are more rare and a bit head-scratching, especially with no explanation. We just experienced a bizarre multi-day closure over at Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, with the ride reopening just a couple of days ago.
This morning while checking out the first day of the 2021 Taste of EPCOT International Festival of the Arts, we noticed that Frozen Ever After was temporarily closed. No bother, we would just check back later in the day!
Well…we kept checking back, and Frozen Ever After CONTINUED to remain closed. In fact, as of this writing it looks like Frozen Ever After may be down for the entire day.
Frozen Ever After just went through some noticeable changes with the addition of plexiglass barriers in between rows so more parties can be added to each boat.
At this time we have not learned the exact reason why the ride was closed all day, or when we can expect the ride to come back up. With Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, Disney never provided any clarity on its five-day closure either, although it seemed to reopen without any noticeable changes.
Normally when an attraction is down for more than a day, Disney lets guests know ahead of time so they can plan their park days accordingly. With lots of guests looking to visit EPCOT this weekend during the first few days of Festival of the Arts, we hope to see Frozen Ever After up and running soon!
