Disney is making big moves on the construction project over at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort!
As you might have heard, the Polynesian Village is midway through a MAJOR refurbishment (including a Moana-themed room re-do!) that is set to last through the summer of this year. As a part of this, the monorail station temporarily closed at this resort — and now it’s gone completely!
We cruised by Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort today on the monorail and we noticed something pretty BIG was missing!
The monorail station has been DEMOLISHED. This station has been closed for several months now but this is a new BIG step.
Now, the platform and walkway that used to board guests are gone. Do note that the monorail guide rails are still present and the monorail can still pass by the resort. As you can see, the sliding door lead to nothing.
Here’s a glimpse at the concept art for the resort’s refurbishment!
We’re eager to see the finished product when this hotel reopens this summer. In the meantime, we’ll be sure to keep you updated on all the changes over at Polynesian Village Resort so stay tuned to DFB!

Paula Price says
Will you still be able to board the monorail once the refurbish finished at the Polynesian?
DFB Sarah says
Paula, we expect Monorail service will resume when construction progress allows for it.
TeryyAH says
Can you take a boat to the Poly from the MK?
DFB Sarah says
TeryyAH, I believe that water taxi is still operating to MK from Polynesian.
