This has been QUITE the morning for Disneyland fans! After a closure that will have lasted over an entire year, Disneyland and Disney California Adventure will welcome back guests on Friday, April 30th.
Needless to say, there are TONS of things we’re excited to experience once the parks reopen, from the rides to snacks to characters, and much more! There’s one ride in particular that we’re excited to see once again, especially when you consider that it went down for a major refurbishment months before Disneyland’s closures even began!
That’s right — we’re talking about Haunted Mansion!
Haunted Mansion closed for refurbishment in early 2020, right after its holiday overlay concluded for the season. We already knew this would be a lengthy downtime for this fan-favorite ride, but obviously we didn’t realize we would go THIS long without Haunted Mansion in our lives!
When it closed, Disney shared that the work being done would include enhancements to the ride’s mechanics, interiors, and exteriors. No completion date was announced at the time, but the closure was originally scheduled to last through spring of 2020.
So, we would HOPE that the refurbishments at Haunted Mansion will have been completed before the parks reopen on April 30th. Disneyland shared that “new magic is coming to Haunted Mansion,” indicating that it’s possible these changes are more than just a fresh coat of paint!
Disney also stated that both “classic and favorite attractions will begin to open at both parks,” which could indicate that some rides may not be available right away starting April 30th. Whether Haunted Mansion opens with the parks on April 30th or it remains closed, we’ll be sure to keep our eyes open for the latest news and developments!
