Earlier this year we shared that Disney Cruise Line would be sailing again soon…but NOT in the way you might expect!
While the cruising situation from the U.S. continues to develop, this summer Disney Cruise Line will be debuting a WHOLE NEW cruising experience for those from the United Kingdom. And now we’ve got a bunch of details about those cruise itineraries and WHEN you’ll be able to book!
This summer, Disney is debuting its NEW UK Staycations with Disney Magic at Sea! These limited cruises will depart from a few different locations in the UK, and they are in fact exclusive to U.K. residents.
You’ll be able to set sail for 2, 3, or 4-night adventures. And, as the name “staycation” implies — you’ll stay onboard the Disney Magic throughout your cruise. In other words, you won’t be docking and getting off at ports like you would expect in a typical cruise.
These cruises will leave from London Tilbury, England; Newcastle, England; Liverpool, England; and Southampton, England. Here’s a look at the itineraries from Southampton. You can see a FULL list of the cruises you could go on from the U.K. on the Disney Cruise Line website.
Update: At one point these itineraries were removed. They are now back on the Disney Cruise Line website, but have been updated. Here’s a look at the updated itineraries from Southampton.
Okay, and now one of the most important things — when can you book?! That depends!
Update: The booking dates have changed since our initial post and the following is the most updated information as of April 19th.
If you’re a Disney Cruise Line Castaway Club Member, then you can get early access. Castaway Club Members are those who have sailed with Disney Cruise Line before. The type of membership you fall into depends on how many Disney Cruise Line vacations you’ve been on before.
Platinum and Gold Members can start booking on April 28th. Then, more members can start booking early on April 29th.
If you’re a Golden Oak Member, a Disney Vacation Club Member, or an Adventures by Disney Insider — you’ll also get early access. Golden Oak Club Members can start booking on April 28th, while DVC Members and Adventures by Disney Insiders will get early access on April 29th.
Don’t fall into any of those early access groups? No worries. The general public will get access to book their U.K. staycations on Disney Cruise Line starting April 30th! It looks like bookings on April 30th will be available by phone and online, or you can use the services of a travel agent.
The Disney Cruise Line website also now shows some of the experiences guests can expect onboard including special moments with Disney characters, Disney entertainment, and more.
You can also visit the port-specific webpages. When we visited the one for Liverpool, it specifically noted that when guests arrive at the port, they will need to complete a Rapid COVID-19 test. Once the guest and their party has tested negative, they will then be allowed to embark.
So, if you’re a UK resident and looking to book one of these new cruises, be sure to mark your calendars! We’ll keep an eye out for more updates on Disney Cruise Line and let you know what we find.
