After being closed for over a year, the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover FINALLY reopened yesterday!Â
We had to wait quite a while for this fan-favorite ride to reopen, and while we were waiting, Cast Members had to be evacuated off of the ride when it was being tested. Later in the day, we were finally able to sit in those blue vehicles and take a relaxing ride all around Tomorrowland once more. But, now some the PeopleMover drama has continued.
A HUGE thank you to our reader @smcgilloway0301 on Instagram for reaching out to us about this. Today, @smcgilloway0301 shared a photo with us of the PeopleMover…being evacuated!! This appears to have taken place at around 12:40PM today. Poor PeopleMover, it just can’t catch a break!
As of 2:49PM, however, the ride is not showing that it is temporarily unavailable on My Disney Experience. Instead, it is showing a 40 minute wait on the app, so it appears the problem was short-lived (thankfully)!
Earlier today, we did see that the wait for the PeopleMover was listed as quite long, although we estimated that its actual wait time wouldn’t be as bad. So just keep that in mind for future park visits.

This is another of my favorite rides at WDW.

I really like the People Mover because you get to see so many other attractions while you’re on it. Its a nice little rest and there’s a great snack stand right near by.
