Disney World’s 50th anniversary is coming up, and there are lots of surprises in store!
We’ve heard all about transformations coming to the parks’ icons, special costumes for Mickey and Minnie, and even new name tags for Cast Members! But now, in a collaboration between PhotoPass and Snapchat, there’s a way for guests to get in on the fun.
NEW augmented reality lenses have arrived on Snapchat — and they let you interact with Mickey and Minnie! These pals can give you a digital hug, make gestures, and more.
While the Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse lenses will only be available on Snapchat while you’re physically in Disney World, you can access them from home for a limited time! Until June 3rd, these lenses will be available everywhere to celebrate the launch (and yup, we’re gonna spend WAY too long testing ’em out). You can find them on the Disney PhotoPass Snapchat profile!
Disney ALSO gave us a peek at other exciting collaborations with Snapchat that are on the way, like a virtual transformation of Cinderella Castle (what?!) to create “a beautiful mosaic of special moments shared by our guests.” Pick your favorite picture to put on the castle — and each time you return during the 18-month 50th anniversary celebration, your photo will be there!
