Just a few nights ago, fireworks returned to Disney World at both Magic Kingdom and EPCOT.
But weather concerns can impact fireworks shows at Disney World. Today, a flood watch was announced for the Disney World area and a Tornado Watch was also issued for part of Disney World, ahead of Tropical Storm Elsa. Now it looks like the weather concerns in Disney World are impacting some of the fireworks shows.
Just a few moments ago, we were looking at the My Disney Experience app and went to look at today’s showtimes. When we were there, we noticed that Happily Ever After has a listed showtime for tonight at 9:15, but there was no listed showtime for EPCOT Forever. Instead, Disney merely had a mention of the new show coming to Magic Kingdom on the 50th Anniversary, Disney Enchantment.
When we searched for “fireworks” in the app, we found that Happily Ever After once again displays a showtime for tonight, but EPCOT Forever does not.
So, we reached out to Disney via chat and a Cast Member did confirm that due to the weather, EPCOT Forever will not be taking place tonight (July 6th).
Update: Disney World sent out a notification through My Disney Experience noting that tonight’s performance of EPCOT Forever has been canceled and that Happily Ever After may be modified. We’ll keep an eye out for more updates.
This is an important thing to keep in mind if you’ll be in the parks today or even any day during this upcoming hurricane season. Due to weather concerns, things like fireworks can be impacted. Certain rides may also shut down due to weather concerns.
If you’ll be visiting Disney World during hurricane season, be sure to prepare yourself and your family for these potential deviations from your set plans. Check out our video below to see more about how to survive Disney World weather and hurricane season.

Disney good idea the storm can be very bad or just heavy rain the wind is the worst to make things bad . To have the fireworks with one or hundreds people in the park watching the fireworks is a bad idea ” Good for Disney “to be smart
Speaking of fireworks – so sad July 4th (if not 3rd and 5th too) were NOT patriotic. So much celebration for the 50th which I am so looking forward to but we need to celebrate our country’s birthday!!!
