If you’re familiar with the Kingdom of Cute series over in Disney or remember those designer Hipster Mickey ears, you probably know about artist Jerrod Maruyama. Well now, he’s taking his cheerful artistic style to print with an enchantingly spooky new Nightmare Before Christmas book: Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas: 13 Days of Christmas.
With Halloween right around the corner and our countdown to Christmas in mind, let’s take a look at a sneak preview of the new book!
Right off the bat, we can’t help but say, “Awww” when we see Maruyama’s illustrations in Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas: 13 Days of Christmas.
Tim Burton’s spooky, dark style is still on display, but with a little Maruyama flair (Sally’s smile screams Jerrod Maruyama). Also– we love Jack Skellington’s approach– why have twelve days of Christmas when you can have thirteen?
The gang’s all here as we start the book (peep adorable little Zero)!
As we move further into the story, we see a Maruyama rendition of a spooky Christmas tree. We have to say, Jack Skellington’s fortune card tree looks pretty sparkly and bright for such a bare-bones little tree. Nice work, Jack.
Jack looks a little puzzled here– he could use a lifeline. Luckily he’s got three.
No doubt that this is a perfect gift for fans of The Nightmare Before Christmas! You can grab a copy now for $10.99.
