The Walt Disney World Railroad has been unavailable for quite a while now, due to the construction of TRON Lightcycle Run.
While the Railroad is closed, Disney seemingly decided to spruce up the Main Street Train Station, which led to some huge and not very pretty scrims. Today we noticed a bit of change to the train station!! Finally some movement.
If you don’t remember, we’ve been treated to the sight of a scrim at the Magic Kingdom Main Street Train Station for some time now. At this point, the scrim, while still obvious, somewhat blends in to allow guests to get photos without being TOO obvious.
As we walked into Magic Kingdom today we noticed a change — we can see the top of the Main Street Train Station!
That means we can actually see the Main Street Train Station clock! Scrim remains to cover the rest of the train station, but it’s promising to see the clock revealed, and it looks great.
Seeing any sort of train station movement has us really excited!!
We can’t wait to see the front of the train station once again and we can’t wait to ride the train through the kingdom again. We will continue to keep you posted on updates regarding the train!

This is great, but all in all, the Main Street station refirb is another example of poor planning and execution by Disney that puts the guest experience in the back seat. There should be 24/7 work crews on this project. It is the first thing guests see and the image sets the stage for a memorable visit. No excuse to be shut down for over a year, no excuse. They are not rebuilding Rome.

This is great! The train station is the welcome point for all of the guests to first see, so it’s very important for Disney to be sure that it looks especially spiffy! Well done!
