With new vaccination requirements and a flurry of cancellations, Disney Cruise Line is making lots of changes to adapt to the times.
However, cruises have started to set sail again, including Disney cruises. Today, the CDC has some new guidances for certain individuals seeking to go on a cruise.
According to USA Today, the CDC has officially updated its guidances for cruise ships. The CDC has determined that individuals who are at risk (older folks, pregnant or recently pregnant people, and other people whose immunities are decreased or compromised) should avoid trips on cruise ships regardless of vaccination status.
This is due to the fact that although the vaccine prevents most COVID-19 contractions and increases the body’s ability to fight the disease effectively, at-risk individuals should still be cautious during these times, especially with the appearance of the new Delta variant.
So, according to the CDC, it’s best to avoid cruise ships if you’re at risk in any way, regardless of vaccination status. We’re always keeping up with the latest news that could affect your Disney trip, so stay tuned for more.

So high risk vaccinated people? But you’re not supposed to be high risk if you’re vaccinated…?
Marjorie, my understanding is that the vaccine is not a cure; folks who receive it can still contract COVID-19. However, symptoms are typically less severe. However, for those who would be considered high-risk for viruses/illness, those symptoms could still be more severe even with the vaccine. I suppose one might say it’s a matter of degrees.
