Over the past several months, various Disney World hotels have reopened.
Most recently, we’ve seen Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort reopened, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is set to reopen soon. Another hotel that is set to join the “reopened” group soon is Disney’s All-Star Music Resort. But, recently something strange happened to our upcoming reservation at this spot.
At the moment, Disney World’s website still indicates (as it did previously) that Disney’s All-Star Music Resort is set to reopen on September 16th, 2021. Reservations for this spot became available in early July.
A member of our DFB team had a reservation at Disney’s All-Star Music Resort for September 16th through September 17th. But, when they checked on the status of their reservation today (August 25th) the reservation had entirely disappeared from their account!
They didn’t receive a call or email from Disney about this cancellation/disappearance, but when they checked their account the reservation had mysteriously gone missing.
We reached out to Disney via chat, but the Cast Member we spoke to was not aware of any specific situation that might have caused this.
So, we went to the Disney World website to search for available rooms. When we searched for a room for a single night (checking in September 16th and checking out September 17th), no rooms at All-Star Music appeared to be available.
Interestingly though, when we searched for a room at All-Star Music where we’d check in on September 16th and check out on September 18th, the preferred rooms and standard rooms were not available…
…but a family suite was available.
We also checked for longer stays (with a check in date of September 16th and check out date of September 22nd), and rooms did appear to be available…
…including a family suite.
One of our fantastic DFB readers who has an upcoming reservation for All-Star Music recently reached out to us about some communication they received from Disney. In the communication they received, Disney shared that they’d like to talk to the guest about their upcoming reservation at All-Star Music and instructed the guest to call a specific number. The communication doesn’t specifically say that the reservation is being canceled or provide other information.
UPDATE: Our DFB Team member was able to speak with Disney and they confirmed that their reservation at All-Star Music from September 16th through the 17th is still active in Disney’s system. The Cast Member they spoke to said that the reservation appears to have disappeared from My Disney Experience due to a technical glitch.
Disney has not yet announced that the opening of All-Star Music will be delayed or otherwise impacted. If your reservation at this Resort has been canceled or impacted, be sure to reach out to Disney for more information. We’ll continue to keep an eye out for more updates on this situation and we’ll let you know what we find.

I read something about this on another site so I reached out to Disney by live chat this morning because I have a reservation for 10/1 – 10/3 at All Star Music. They said that the resort is set to open on 9/16. They did not elaborate and I didn’t press. My reservation in still listed in MDE.
Amber says
We had a reservation at All Star music for the end of October for a standard room for one week. Disney called me today and said that they would like to give us a complimentary upgrade to a family suite at Art of Animation because an issue at All Star Music. We couldn’t be more excited!
Marissa says
They called me last week and upgraded free of charge.

So I chatted with Disney questioning them being that I have reservations for Music in November and this was their reply to me about the reopening and my reservation
“As of right now Disney All Star Music is set to reopen on September 16, 2021. I would check back after that date.”
Now I’m panicked to about my reservation that is still showing up for November but am I gonna get moved and get stuck paying more for a resort I don’t wanna pay from the get go

I had a voicemail from reservation services yesterday stating that a situation came up with my resort. I called back and they asked if it was okay to change our reservation to Caribbean Beach Resort but didn’t give any details as to why it had to change.

I had Allstar Music reservations for 10/2 – 10/9 (standard room). I received a voicemail from Disney to call back. When I did, they said they would like to offer me a complimentary upgrade to the cars family suite at Art of Animation (with no add’l charge). Of course I said yes. I know Allstar Music had completed 1/2 of their buildings room renovations. Disney applied for permit to complete the other 1/2 of buildings on April 1, 2021. When I asked CM if they were moving us was due to ongoing renovations, she said she didn’t know why. My guess… they’re behind on renovations and have to move some guests.

Sounds a little suspicious. Was at Disney on the 24th late day for boo bash, did not seem that busy when I hotel hopped the deluxe hotels.

The reservations for Disney resorts it is better to call and call in a few days to make sure your reservation is in there computer . Make sure you have the reservation number . To look on there web make sure you have the reservation number before you leave the site . I always call to make sure because anything can happen .

Disney’s entire IT infrastructure is abysmal at best. What a “great” time to start up with Genie, etc.!
Nick says
We have an upcoming stay 9-29 through 10-6. Were suppose to stay at All Star Music, disney called us to move our reservation to AoA for no additional cost. The CM mentioned that some previous hotels did not book enough to warrant staffing.

Recently there is a very angry group who was cancelled from Shades Of Green in September. They were all cancelled due to military games that are being held at that time. I’m not sure if they are linked.
DFB Sarah says
Megi, so far those whose reservations have been moved have not had any added fees — the upgrades have been complimentary.
DFB Sarah says
Have fun, Amber!
DFB Sarah says
Dion, I would be very surprised if you don’t get a call. Let us know if you do; it seems like folks are getting them randomly (i.e. some with late-October reservations have already received calls).
Denise says
I didn’t have All-Star Music get cancelled but I did have my Swan Reserve reservation get cancelled due to construction delays for 9/30-10/2. The 50th celebration 😢

Yesterday I looked for a reservation during the second week of December and the search returned not one room available at any Disney resort. Usually something pops up. So there may have been issues throughout the reservation system.
Joseph says
My family was scheduled to stay at Music in mid October. Disney called us last weekend and said they had booking issues and so we were being “upgraded“ to Art of Animation. It could be a Disney good will moment sort of thing but no other details were provided, which seemed odd.
Kim says
We have reservations at All Star Music the week of Thanksgiving. We have never stayed at any of the All Star resorts so I wanted to see some reviews and pictures of the resort. I went To the TripAdvisor site. There is a message at the top of the All Star Music page on their site that says “Update from hotel: This property is temporarily closed until 12/29/2021.” We have not heard anything from Disney, but I am wondering if our reservation will be changed.
Justin says
My reservation for All-Star Music in late November/ early December is still showing up in MDE. I also have not had any calls or voice-mails from them. I think I’ll give a call down there tomorrow just to be sure.
DFB Sarah says
Kim, I think they’re making their way through reservations, calling folks to move them to different Resorts. You could try calling them if you’re concerned, though.

We had a reservation in mid October for music. We received a call about a week and a half ago. The cast member said they were moving us because of a “system enhancement”. To the Caribbean Beach. At no additional charge. I had a preferred room so I wasn’t happy they were moving us to a non-preferred room. When I told him I wasn’t happy about moving he told me “you don’t have a choice”.
That upset me even more because I figured they were closed for over a year. What kind of system enhancement could it be?
I’m really unhappy about the way they handled this. If I had wanted to stay at Caribbean Beach I would have booked there to begin with.

Hi DFB Sarah / I am using the comment page because I have emailed support@DFB Guide several times with no response. We purchased the DFB 2021 Guide to the Holidays and forgot to download our link and it expired. Our invoice date is July 27, 2021 under the name of John. I have been emailing every day to ask for the link to be reinstated with no response from the support desk. If someone could look into this I would appreciate it. If the link cannot be reestablished I would appreciate a refund or at least some sort of reply from the support desk. I would so much prefer having the Holiday Guide because we are planning a trip for November and I always use the guide to help plan our winter trips. I have emailed the support desk over five times with no response from them. I know everyone at DFB is very busy but if you could help me I would appreciate it. Thank you!

I have a reservation for September 21-25. Haven’t received any calls yet!

We have a reservations in All Star Music 10/4-10/9 and I haven’t received a call so I decided to call just in case! The CM I spoke to said everything was good to go and they weren’t having any issues for the opening day, but with everyone getting upgrades I’m hoping they give us a call soon LOL 😆
DOUG PURCELL says
I received a call the other day letting me know that my reservation at All-Star Music was being changed to Caribbean Beach Resort, no additional charge! Asked if that was OK? DUH! Silly question! I said it was fine and I didn’t ask why and they didn’t give any details as to why it had to change. Looking forward to our UPGRADE!!
DFB Sarah says
Nicole, I’d expect them to give you a call, but I can’t see a rhyme or reason to who they’re calling when. Let us know if you get a call!
DFB Sarah says
Arlene, I’ll pass this on to a team member directly. Thanks for your patience!
DFB Sarah says
Arlene, we sent a new link to the email you used when you left your comment. Let me know if you need anything else. 🙂

I am an agent and have a reservation mid October for clients. They wanted to reduce their stay by one night – the system would not let me do it (9/2) so I had to cal – said it was unavailable. She said it was because it was a minimum night requirement. (???)
She called guest service and got it manually done. Said it was stated to open on the 16th. Guess we will see.
DFB Sarah says
Thanks for sharing, Corey!

Have reservations for 10/13-10/17, haven’t been contacted yet. I called yesterday because I had to drop one of the persons off our reservation and o asked the cast member about it, she said everyone keeps calling her and telling her this but she hasn’t been told anything by Disney. So I guess we’ll see. I would love to get moved somewhere else! There’s no going down when you are staying at the all-stars lol
Arlene says
DFB Sarah – Yes! Thank you so much! I received the new link! And thanks to the DFB Guide Team for resending the link!
I love the DFB Holiday Guide so much and devour every page of it before our winter trip to Disney World. It is jam-packed with helpful information along with beautiful Disney Holiday pictures. I highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Disney Parks during the Holidays! Thanks again for your help! : )
DFB Sarah says
Arlene, I’m glad it worked out!
