It is a VERY exciting day at Disney World!
Since Disney World’s reopening last year, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Disney Vacation Club rooms have been open. But as of today, the resort is now fully open including Moana rooms! So, of course, we stopped by to check it out!
Now, we’ve been to the Polynesian MANY times to eat at Kona Cafe, check out the gift shop, and keep an eye on all the construction being done there. And we were just there for the reopening of ‘Ohana, as well as the reopening of Kona Island (where we ate our weight in candied bacon — don’t judge!). But things are busier now that more Disney guests have arrived!
Note: The monorail station at the Polynesian has not yet reopened.

While waiting in line to check in, we were given a complimentary cup of P.O.G. juice!
If you don’t know what P.O.G. juice is, it’s a combo of passion fruit, orange, and guava!
There was also a live musician playing in the lobby during check in. This really made the reopening of the Polynesian feel like a celebration! And if you didn’t get your P.O.G. juice in the check in line, there were Cast Members handing it out at a stand in the lobby as well.

Also in the lobby was an activity to make a Kukui Nut Lei with the help of some Cast Members!
A child lei was $15 and an adult lei was $20.
There were all different kinds of beads to choose from.
And the Cast Members showed us how to make the lei!
We chose some purple beads and brown beads with flowers for our lei.
Then we strung them onto our ribbon!
They’re such a fun souvenir to celebrate the reopening of the resort!
Most of the resort looks the same as before, but there are a few new things! The hallways to the guest rooms have a whole new design.
Check out that colorful carpet!
This makes walking to our room so much more fun!
And there’s also new artwork in the hallways!
Watch out for that volcano!
And of course, there’s some Moana inspiration. Say hey to Hei Hei!
Can you spot any hidden Mickey’s around Moana?
We think this new artwork makes the hallways to the rooms super lively!
Speaking of rooms, let’s head to ours!
We’re so pumped to finally be able to stay inside the newly redesigned rooms themed to Moana!
We’ve seen some glimpses of the new rooms before, but now we actually get to see all the details! Check out our FULL room tour!
We were also recently here for the reopening of ‘Ohana, which is now available for Breakfast and Dinner!
It’s good to have ‘Ohana noodles back in our lives.

And Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto is ALSO reopening today! We can’t wait to sip on a tiki drink in this interactive bar again.
We’ll be coming at you with a look inside Trader Sam’s later on, but for now, that’s all from the reopening of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort! Stay tuned to DFB for more news and updates.

Are all the rooms renovated?
Michelle, not all the rooms are open yet after their refurb, so we’re not sure if they’re all completed.
If you aren’t staying at a resort what is the best way to visit one? Would I be able to get on a bus from Disney Springs?
Seneca, yes, you can get on a bus from Disney Springs. Disney transpo is the best way to get into a Resort if you’re not interested in getting an ADR or Mobile Ordering at one.
The Monorail service not being available is a tragedy… poor planning on Disney’s part.
I was there had to walk to the poly from the monorail station . To hang out there was a lot of you tubers .They were there for the opening I got to meet a few of them that I watch there channel .I even got a Dole Whip it was so good after not being for the last 2 years . I enjoy just sitting and meeting people it is a very relaxing place .
