We Dare You Not to Smile at the NEW Addition to Disney’s Animal Kingdom!

Since the arrival of Disney+, we have received a lot of behind-the-scenes content. We have been spoiled with shows like The Imagineering Story, Behind the Attraction, and Magic of Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

One behind-the-scenes peek we always LOVE getting are the new additions to the animal families at Disney’s Animal Kingdom! And we have a new one for you today!

Just a couple of weeks ago we were able to celebrate the birth of a baby girl gorilla to parents Azizi and Gino. After being able to see baby girl and mom, Azizi, bonding over the past week we FINALLY can learn her name!

How adorable! Ada (Ah-duh) comes from the Igbo people in Nigeria and it means “first daughter”. Azizi is already a mother to two sons but Ada was indeed her first daughter.

The animal care team put so much thought into this name reveal and truly made it a family affair. They utilized rice cereal to spell the name out on a rock. They did this to stimulate the gorilla’s problem-solving skills and to encourage them to reveal the name themselves!

You can try to catch a glimpse of baby Ada and her family at Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
