If you want to support an amazing cause while also shopping for unique and vintage Disney items AND listening to people sharing their experiences with Disney history, this may be the event for you.
This event is happening in Disney World right now and tomorrow and some tickets are still available, so check it out if you think you may be interested!
At Disney’s Contemporary Resort this weekend you can catch the 2021 DIS Family Reunion expo, which celebrates Disney through special guests, vendors, and entertainment. Currently, tickets are still available for today (September 9th) and tomorrow (September 10th). Note that the After Hours event is sold out.
Proceeds from DIS Family Reunion benefit Give Kids the World Village, a nonprofit Central Florida resort that provides families with children experiencing critical illnesses free, weeklong vacations. We were invited to attend this event today, where we found lots of vendors with Disney merchandise, like Keaton’s Kollectibles selling a huge collection of Funko Pops.
We also saw Magic Candle Company, where you can buy Disney-inspired candles…
…like Pirate Life (who doesn’t love the water smell from Pirates of the Caribbean?), Churro, Bakery, Poison Apple, and Villains.
In addition to vendors, there’s also the opportunity to hear panelists speak about various topics. These panelists, Tom Nabbe, Bill Hoelscher, and Bill Sullivan, are former Cast Members who worked at Disneyland on opening day in 1955, and they spoke about their memories of that first day. Today even Jodi Benson, the voice of Ariel from The Little Mermaid as well as many other characters, also spoke!
If you were considering getting a ticket for this event tomorrow, you can visit DIS Family Reunion’s website for the schedule for September 10th. On the schedule for tomorrow is Pat Sajak, the longtime host of Wheel of Fortune, who will be there at 10AM to talk about his experiences from the show! There’s more on the schedule if you visit their website.
And if you wanted to visit tonight, you could have the chance to listen to several different fan-favorite Disney performers like Off Kilter. Tomorrow, the Mickey Mouse Club Reunion will perform from 8PM to 10PM!
If you prefer to shop for collectible and vintage Disney items, there are also many Disney items available for auction.
These detailed Winnie the Pooh plates and dishes are from the 1990s.
And there’s plenty of Disney princess memorabilia, like these snow globes and music boxes. If you can’t make it to the event, you can even bid online on the DIS Family Reunion website!
Tickets are still available at various prices, and you can purchase them on DIS Family Reunion’s website.
If you only wanted to attend the evening festivities, that is still an option too!
If you want to support a great cause, visit the DIS Family Reunion website to check the schedule and buy tickets. We’re here to keep you fully updated on everything happening in Disney World, so stay tuned to DFB for more news.
