Finding Nemo: The Musical is a stage show in Disney’s Animal Kingdom based on the popular Pixar film Finding Nemo. The show features incredibly talented live performers that sing, act, dance, and operate large puppets designed to look like their characters from the film.
While several stage shows with live performers, like the Beauty and the Beast stage show and The Festival of the Lion King, have reopened in Disney World, the Finding Nemo Musical has been closed for quite some time. Now, we’ve got a BIG update about just what is going on with this show.
Earlier today, Disney announced that a REIMAGINED show based on the same beloved characters from the Finding Nemo film will debut in Disney’s Animal Kingdom in 2022!
Disney shares that their Live Entertainment team is still in the early stages of development for this new show. But, they have confirmed that the show will be a “musical retelling of this underwater tale of family, friendship and kindness.” The reimagined show will feature NEW story material, but will keep some fan-favorite songs like “In the Big Blue World” and “Go with the Flow.”
So, if you were a fan of Finding Nemo: The Musical in its most recent form, it seems like the reimagined show will still feature some elements that you may have enjoyed from the old show. We’re looking forward to seeing just how many elements from the old musical this reimagined show will feature, and what new things it will include.

Hope they put in more of the fish tank scene and better replicas of the tikis. They are becoming iconic, they were even in “Lamp Life” the Pixar short. The tikis in the last show were not well represented. My 2 cents.
