Space 220 has opened in EPCOT at long last!

Space 220
The brand-new space-themed restaurant has been much anticipated and seems to be VERY popular in its opening days. If you want to dine at Space 220, you can opt for lunch, dinner, or lounge seating. But what time of day is the BEST time to visit Space 220? Let’s take a look!
The best option might be anytime that you can get a seat at the lounge.
Unlike the full table service option that will be reservation-only starting September 27th, the Space 220 Lounge is and will remain a first-come, first-serve option. We absolutely love the lounge, so the best time to visit Space 220 might be whenever you can snag a lounge seat!

Astro Deviled Eggs
There are a LOT of pros when it comes to visiting the lounge. For one, you’ll have access to the exclusive Flight Bites like the Astro Deviled Eggs AND some starters from the main menu like the AMAZING Blue Moon Cauliflower. This means you can order a few small plates and some drinks and call it a day.Â

Atmospritz
Yup, the lounge is your ticket to experiencing the out-of-this-world theming of Space 220 without the hefty price tag. Plus, you’re also able to order the prix fixe in the lounge if you decide you do want it!

Space 220 Lounge
On the other hand, this spot is first-come, first-serve so you might not get a seat or you may find yourself stuck in a line for a while. Plus, the lounge seating is furthest from the space windows — so you might not have the best view of the main thing that makes this restaurant unique. Still, with more palatable pricing and good seats nonetheless, the lounge might be the way to go.Â

Head to Space 220 for lunch if you want the full meal experience and a slightly lower cost.
Lunch at Space 220 is probably our least recommended time to visit the restaurant, but it could be right for you! Lunch offers the two-course prix fixe (starter and entree) for $55 — much cheaper than the $79 dinner portion. So, this might be the option for you if you are able to make a reservation, want a better seat, and are looking to save a little bit of money in comparison to dinner.

Space 220 Lunch
Though we prefer the entree options at dinner, lunch does have some standouts. To get your money’s worth, we recommend ordering the Flat Iron Steak or the Bluehouse Salmon (also available at dinner).

But the better full meal option for you might be dinner.
Dinner at Space 220 has a lot going for it — but the VERY big con of being $79 per person (Whew!). Still, this meal might be the better time to visit for your family! After all, the dinner menu has a few more entrees that make the price feel worth it AND dessert is included.

Dinner Spread
The feel like you got your money’s worth at this meal, we recommend ordering some of the higher-end entrees like the 8ox Filet Mignon or the X2 Duck. We even think one of the upcharge items feels ALMOST worth the very high price. If you’re a seafood lover and you feel like dropping some serious dough, the 1.5 lbs Baked Whole Lobster Stuffed with Jumbo Crab for an additional $20 was a show-stopper.

X2 Duck
The other thing to note about a dinner reservation at Space 220 is that your reservation time could get you some added perks. If you make a late reservation, you might miss fireworks but you could be dining until after the park closes. That way, you’re losing less of your park day in the restaurant!

What are they fighting over?!
And if you make an early enough dinner reservation, you might be in the restaurant long enough to catch daytime AND nighttime views from the elevator AND the space windows looking out over Earth! Since theming is such a big part of the experience here, this might be a pretty big perk.

So, there’s really no “RIGHT” time to dine at Space 220. It depends on your priorities! If you’re looking to save some money and your timing is flexible, check out the lounge! Want the full meal and don’t want to chance missing the fireworks? Lunch or early dinner should be your go-to! And if you want the FULL experience then dinner is the way to go.

We have reservations for Space 220, can we use those reservations for the lounge vs sit down lunch. We have a person who does not want the big meal. If we can’t do that can we have someone join us at our table and NOT order lunch? Thanks
Toni, one of our reporters tells me that when you check in, you can let them know that you’d like to be seated in the lounge. They’ll try to accommodate as soon as they can, though you may still have a bit of a wait. Our reporter does think you’d have higher priority than walk-ins, since you’ve got an ADR for the restaurant. To answer your second question: everyone seated in the restaurant who’s age three or older will be charged for a meal, so I don’t believe you’d be able to have someone in your party who does not order lunch. We have also been told you can’t order from the lounge menu when you’re in the dining room, so that would not be an option either, unfortunately. Sounds like your best bet would be your first thought: ask for lounge seating. Good luck!
Thank you so much!
