While seeing the new things at Disney’s domestic parks can be great fun, it’s also exciting to see new things opening at Disney’s international parks.

Hong Kong Disneyland has actually gotten a number of new things over the past several months, including a new show, new souvenirs, and more. But, if you’re planning to visit Hong Kong Disneyland in 2022, there will be a whole bunch of other NEW (and returning) things for you to see!

Recently, Hong Kong Disneyland released details about some of the new and returning things coming to the resort in 2022. Let’s go through some of the BIG things you won’t want to miss at Hong Kong Disneyland next year:

1 — A NEW Nighttime Spectacular!

In 2022, Hong Kong Disneyland guests will get the chance to see a brand new nighttime spectacular every Friday to Sunday night. The new show will take guests on a journey “through the lens of Disney stories, characters, and music.”

There will be projection mapping, water projections, special lighting, lasers, water fountains, pyrotechnics, flames, fireworks, and MORE!

According to Disney, as guests join their “favorite Disney and Pixar characters as they experience moments of hope and inspiration, love and laughter, hardship and perseverance, and reflection and celebration, the show reminds us how precious time is and inspires everyone to live life to the fullest.” Sounds awesome!

2 — Year-Round Fun

There will also be plenty of fun to be had year-round. Here’s a look at some of the seasonal celebrations you’ll get to enjoy at Hong Kong Disneyland.

January to February: “Magical Year After Year” Chinese New Year celebration. Guests will get to meet Tigger to celebrate the Year of the Tiger and enjoy a festive celebration.

June to August: You’ll get to enjoy some summer fun with your Pixar friends in the “Pixar Water Play Street Party” on Main Street, U.S.A.

September to October: Get ready to celebrate spooky season during Disney Halloween Time. There will be all kinds of fun surprises from Disney characters and villains.

November to December: Celebrate the most wonderful time of the year during A Disney Christmas. Guests will get to enjoy “snowfall, festive costumes, and colorful lights.”

3 — Fun for Every Fandom

But, there’s more. For all the Duffy fans, LinaBell will come to Hong Kong Disneyland will all kinds of merchandise and more items in the Autumn of 2022. There will also be more Duffy & Friends food and merchandise for guests to get year-round.

For the Marvel fans, Hong Kong Disneyland has said that guests will get special surprises next year as Marvel’s new films hit theaters. Disney has also shared that “more new Marvel Super Heroes will be ready for action and adventure at Hong Kong Disneyland in 2022.”

4 — Tons of New Food

2022 will also bring with it LOTS of new food and drinks. According to Disney, on average there will be more than 30 NEW food and beverage items available in the parks and hotels each month. YUM!

There will also be exciting changes at some spots including a semi-buffet newly introduced at Explorer’s Club Restaurant. The Food and Drink Fair will also return with some updates.

And guests who want premium dining options will get to enjoy new offerings coming soon to the Hong Kong Disneyland hotels.

5 — A Whole BUNCH of New Merchandise

Lots of new merchandise will also be available in 2022. Disney has shared that more than 200 NEW merchandise items will be released monthly. That’s the highest number of new merchandise items being released in the resort’s history!

Hong Kong Disneyland will also be introducing some new merchandise series — Health & Home and Disney Fashion.

And there will be exclusive collectibles released in waves throughout 2022.

6 — Magic Access Member

If you want more exclusive perks, then you might want to become a Magic Access Member. Throughout 2022, Magic Access members will get the chance to get exclusive collectibles. Right now through November 19th, 2021, existing Magic Access Members cam get an early renewal offer too.
