The Star Wars hotel (Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser) is currently open for booking and will be opening in March of 2022!
We’ve already heard a bit about the food you’ll find on the ship, what the experience will be like when you step aboard, and more. We’ve also gotten a peek at some of the hotel rooms on the ship, including one equipped with what looked like TINY bunk beds. But, just how small or big are those bunk beds? We’ve got some NEW details.
Recently, some guests got to go on a “test sailing” at the Star Wars hotel, and shared some updates about the experience. One of the things several commented on was the SIZE of those bunk beds. You’ve got to admit, they look pretty small in the photo below. But, as it turns out, sometimes looks can be deceiving.
According to StarWars.com, though these bunk beds look small in pictures, “a six-foot-tall passenger can comfortably lie down in one of the capsule-like sleeping quarters.”
Another page on StarWars.com also shared that “Some rooms come equipped with built-in bunk beds that are actually large enough to comfortably sleep a six-foot-tall adult. And Mullins says the team invented an all-new mattress just for those capsules.”
IGN has echoed similar statements. They noted that the room they visited was intended to fit 2 adults and 2 kids. The room had a queen size bed and 2 bunk beds. The bunks appeared small, but they were actually “twin size.” IGN specifically noted that “the tallest person in our group was able to climb up and fully lay down.”
The Nerdist shared that the ship has 3 decks of cabins and 2 decks of general gathering spaces. They also noted that a 6-foot tall person “laid down in the bottom bunk and fit!” The room the Nerdist visited featured a bathroom that was not split (i.e. the toilet and shower were in the same space).”
They shared that, though the bunks are bigger than you’d think, “the rooms feel tight.” You might not be spending too much time in your room with so many activities to do and character interactions to be had, but still it’s something to note.
So, it seems the bunk beds themselves appear deceivingly small in photos, but are larger than expected. We’ll keep an eye out for more details about the Star Wars Hotel experience and let you know what we find.
