A Star Wars Hotel is coming to Disney World! Guests at the completely immersive Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser will “board a starship alive with characters and stories that unfold all around them” when it opens on March 1, 2022!

©Disney
The experience will be unlike any other Disney destination anywhere. In fact, Disney says of the Galactic Starcruiser, “This isn’t storytelling – it’s storyliving, where you’ll see, feel and live Star Wars in a whole new way.”
This all-new Resort experience will offer a two-day, two-night itinerary, meaning that guests will arrive and depart in the same time block (similar to a cruise). A wide range of activities and dining experiences in an immersive environment “on a galaxy far, far away” will make this an experience like no other!
Disney has described the Galatic Starcruiser as: “part live immersive theater, part themed environment, part culinary extravaganza, part real-life role-playing game—and yet so much more.”
Find out why the Star Wars Hotel isn’t really a hotel here!
So, how does one board a Starcruiser, exactly? Read on…
Boarding The Halcyon
Guests will become citizens of the galaxy immediately upon entry (and will be invited to dress the part). First stop? It’s check-in at the Galactic Starcruiser Terminal!
Guests will then enter a Launch Pod which will bring them straight into space where they will dock at the Starcruiser, the Halcyon of the Chandrila Star Line, known for its fleet of glamourous starcruisers of which the Halcyon is the jewel.
Guests will even see the Halcyon — a 100-cabin Corellian MPO-1400 model starcruiser — through viewports as they approach!
Your journey will officially begin as you board the Halcyon which is “known for its impeccable service and exotic destinations,” and a muster will share what guests are about to see and experience.
Once onboard, guests will stay in “well-appointed cabins, experience onboard dining, make a planet-side excursion to Black Spire Outpost on Batuu, and more,” and from there, the “broader galactic story unfolds.”
You see, not all is quiet in the greater galaxy, due to “unrest in certain parts” — not to mention unrest between the First Order and the Resistance…
But don’t you worry about that, just now. Let’s EXPLORE!!
Experiences and Itinerary Aboard the Halcyon
During your stay aboard the spaceship, there will be opportunities to train with a lightsaber, interact with your favorite characters (and encounter new ones), and operate the ship’s defense systems!

A Model of the Halcyon in Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Let’s chat about the special areas and activities aboard the Halcyon!
The Atrium
Passengers will gather — along with member’s of The Halcyon’s crew — in The Atrium.
You may even spot a familiar face or two from a galaxy (that’s no longer!) far, far away…
The Bridge
A visit to The Bridge will give passengers the chance to train to navigate the Halcyon and operate its controls and defense systems (with guidance from the crew, of course).
The Disney World website even shares that the skills you gain from the crew “may even come in handy should critical situations arise later in your voyage!”
In a recent media presentation, Disney offered a sneak peek at The Bridge! Disney shared that out of the viewports you’ll be able to see other ships, including others in the Chandrila Star Line.
Could some of those levers start the jump to lightspeed? We can only hope!
Click HERE to see MORE photos of The Bridge!
The Engineering Room
You may even be able to sneak into the Engineering Room — typically reserved for The Halcyon’s crew only — and see for yourself how the ship works…

… IF you can FIND IT, that is!
Lightsaber Training (!!!)
Oh, and if you’ve ever dreamed of wielding a LIGHTSABER (and who hasn’t?!?), the Galactic Starcruiser will give its passengers the opportunity to train with one! Please Note: Guests must be at least 7 years old to participate in the Lightsaber Training activity.
Speaking of Lightsabers… Disney announced that guests who experience Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser will be the first to see the new type of lightsaber created by Walt Disney Imagineering Research and Development in action. But you can get your first glimpse in the video that Disney provided below!
Find out about the brand NEW Lightsaber that guests at Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser will see FIRST!
Sample Itinerary
Disney has provided a Sample Itinerary showing when passengers might experience the various activities. (Simply click the image below to enlarge.) As you will see, the experience will include “Story Moments.” This means that depending on who you meet and interact with, your Star Wars story may change!
Take a closer look at the sample itinerary for the Galactic Starcruiser stay here!
Guests should plan to arrive in the afternoon between 1PM and 4PM, and will depart early on Day 3 around 10AM. The excursion to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is scheduled for the second day of the journey. (There will be designated times for guests to ride the two attractions in Galaxy’s Edge: Rise of the Resistance and Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.)
Additional items on the itinerary include Sabacc lessons and a Tournament, a Captain’s Reception, a Droid Racing Competition (which guests may enter if they create their own droid at Droit Depot in Galaxy’s Edge), and a one-hour “spectacular finale” before you head back to earth!
Passengers aboard the Starcruiser will also have access to unique features in the Star Wars: Datapad (available through the Play Disney Parks app) to check the itinerary and even receive communications from the crew (and make your own choices and allegiances)! (Note that your personal itinerary will be available in the Datapad 30 days prior to your departure date.)
YOUR Story Aboard the Halcyon
Once you board the Halcyon, you’ll have decisions to make. What kind of Star Wars story do YOU want to live out? Are you going to channel your inner Dark Side by assisting the First Order or perhaps join the Resistance? You might help smuggle characters onto the ship (or perhaps become one yourself), gain the trust of characters to help them with missions, and discover hidden areas of the starcruiser! You might even choose to change your own path by switching your allegiance during your experience!
Or perhaps you will “follow your connection to the Force.”
While many of these opportunities may come to you through your in-person interactions with characters, they will also present themselves through your Star Wars: Datapad available via the Play Disney Parks app. This will allow you receive messages and make choices that will have an effect on your adventure.
(So, you’ll want to download the Play Disney Parks app — in addition to the My Disney Experience app — BEFORE your arrival aboard the Halcyon!)
But what if you’d prefer to experience everything without having to participate in the more interactive elements?
Disney will allow you to hop in and out of the story as you want to. The company stated: “You can be as casual about this as you want or dive as deeply as you want to” and “There is no wrong way to experience Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser!” Whatever matches your comfort level and desires is what YOU will be able to experience.
Guest Costumes
Guests will be able to immerse themselves in a Star Wars world unlike anything we’ve seen before. And this even includes costumes, as passengers are welcome to “don your galactic best.”
Though not required, passengers may wear their “galactic favorites” like Jedi robes. In fact, the Outer Rim Regalia will offer participants the chance to show off their galactic gear! However, as with the participatory elements mentioned above, passengers may simply wear clothing from earth, if preferred.
Star Wars Characters
Yes, Rey will be aboard the Halcyon with you, along with other familiar characters as well as new ones!

©Disney
You may also encounter the Starcruiser’s “strong and charismatic captain, a plucky ship’s mechanic,” and more, including the Twi’lek entertainer at the Crown of Corellia Dining Room.
In fact, some of the characters may need YOUR help on secret missions! Though others may NOT have your best interests at heart, so beware…
Galactic Starcruiser Dining
Crown of Corellia Dining Room
Welcome to the Crown of Corellia Dining Room! On the first evening, guests will be entertained by a Twi’lek galactic superstar in this intriguing supper club named after Corellia — the planet that delivered not only the Halcyon to the galaxy, but also the Millennium Falcon!

Crown of Corellia Dining Room Concept Art ©Disney
Dinner on the second evening offers The Taste Around the Galaxy! Through group appetizers served to the table, choice of entree, and a specialty plated dessert, guests will enjoy “courses inspired by the geography and environments of iconic destination planets throughout the galaxy.”
The Crown of Corellia Dining Room will also offer an exclusive dining experience: the Captain’s Table. (While meals are included as part of your stay, the Captain’s Table will require an additional fee of $30 per person, plus tax, for one night.)
The Captain’s Table will be set directly in the center of the Crown of Corellia Dining Room for “an especially memorable dinner experience” which will also include extra courses — featuring the Captain’s favorite dishes! — for the meal. (Please Note: Passengers who book this experience will be seated at the Captain’s Table with other Passengers.)
In order to book the Captain’s Table, you will need to call your Galactic Starcruiser Specialist at any time before your Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser adventure.
Click HERE to see everything we know about DINING aboard the Halcyon!
Passengers aboard the Halcyon will enjoy breakfast and lunch in the Crown of Corellia Dining Room during the day, with choices ranging from intergalactic fare to favorites from earth.
Breakfast will feature hot and cold plates, and even Blue Milk straight from Bubo Wamba Family Farms (which is also served at the Milk Stand in Black Spire Outpost).
Lunch will offer choices of small bites like sandwiches, soups, mini flatbreads, salads, and sweet bites.
According to the Disney World website, guests are “likely to be seated at a table with other Guests in the Crown of Corellia Dining Room. If you add on the Captain’s Table experience, you will be seated with other Guests.”

In July 2021, Disney provided a look at some of the Food and Beverage items coming straight from a galaxy far far away!
According to Disney, “We’re taking really delicious things and presenting them in unexpected ways” that are “of and kind of inspired by Star Wars storytelling DNA.”
While Disney did not name the dishes specifically, members of Disney Imagineering shared that the chefs working on the menus have “taken such ownership of the Star Wars storytelling.”
Say, for example, there may be an item inspired by Mustafar (a planet known for heat and lava).
And what about space sips? Let’s check it out…
The Sublight Lounge
And guests of all ages can look forward to sipping on Star Wars beverages in The Sublight Lounge! Perhaps you’ll enjoy a game of holo-Sabacc at the Sabacc Table, while you’re at it!
While we don’t know exactly what this drink below is called or concocted out of, I guess this is the Galactic Starcuiser version of a “shrimp cocktail.”
(See what I did there 😉 ? )
Galactic Starcruiser Shopping
The Galactic Starcruiser will house a “stylish boutique,” by the name of The Chandrila Collection! This is where guests may purchase “galactic attire,” if they so wish!
Now, that we’ve chatted about what’s on board the Halcyon, let’s chat about what’s OUTSIDE…
The Excursion to Batuu
As mentioned above, guests will “make a planet-side excursion to Black Spire Outpost on Batuu” by way of a transport pod sent by Black Spire Outpost.
Batuu is the planet guests set foot upon when they enter Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios (so dedicated time in the land is included in the stay)!
Upon landing, guests can go experience the land’s attractions, Rise of the Resistance and Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run.
More than simply enjoying the rides, however, Disney Imagineers have shared that the attractions will play into the larger story that guests are part of. For example, guests will learn more of the backstory to the smuggling going on at Smuggler’s Run including information on who the buyer is for the coaxium that you’re stealing on the ride.
Guests can have different experiences in the park, depending on what their chosen role is on the Galactic Starcruiser. According to the Imagineers, “You might be investigating that deal [the smuggling] on behalf of the First Order or you might be the person delivering the coordinates to Hondo to know where to go to get the coaxium.”
Cast Members at Batuu could play a role as well, with guests interacting with them to learn more information and complete their missions!
There will be allies to find, and Imagineers mentioned scavenger hunts happening in Galaxy’s Edge as part of that experience as well. Imagineers said that the stories happening on the Galactic Starcruiser were “designed to intersect with the stories going on at Galaxy’s Edge when both were in development at the same time.”
Galaxy’s Edge will be a stop for guests onboard the Galactic Starcruiser to continue their stories, or they can choose to be a tourist for the day at Black Spire Outpost and relax and enjoy their time exploring Batuu.
Learn more about what’s in store for the Black Spire Outpost excursion HERE!
Accommodations — Passenger Cabins and Suites
All passenger cabins will feature a view of space offering glimpses at other ships in the galaxy!
In November 2020, Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, shared another look at the guest rooms with two mockups! You can take a deeper dive into the details here.
And in early 2021, Jeff Vahle, the President of Walt Disney World Resort, posted a few photos of the guest rooms in progress, offering a true first look INSIDE the cabins!

Galaxy Class Suite
The Galaxy Class Suites are one-bedroom suites with an “integrated seating area.” The rooms sleep four people with a Queen bed and two pull-down beds that fit one adult each.
These suites will offer a double vanity bathroom, a bar area, and two windows with outer-space views.
Disney shared that the Suites have “a few extra Star Wars surprises,” which have yet to be revealed!
Galaxy Class Suites have the same amenities as the Standard Cabin, including a mini-refrigerator, a hairdryer, an in-cabin safe, a phone with voicemail messaging, an interactive TV, and H2O Plus toiletries.

There is a double-vanity bathroom, a second bathroom with a single vanity, a bar area, and three windows for viewing outer space. (Disney also mentioned some extra Star Wars surprises in these suites, as well!)
