This week we have learned A LOT about Disney’s newest hotel, the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser. We shared a few details straight from D23 as we learned about the name and saw the first glimpse at concept art. We also shared a few additional details about what to expect during your two-night itinerary.

Model of the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser Halcyon — see the size relative to the Millennium Falcon!
But now, Disney has shared even MORE details about the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser with us, including new information about a transportation pod that will take you from the hotel to Galaxy’s Edge!!
The fictional operator of the halcyon (which is the heart of the Galactic Starcruiser) will be Chandrila Star Line.
Once onboard the ship, guests will have an ALL-INCLUSIVE experience in terms of food, much like a cruise ship. We aren’t sure if alcoholic beverages will be included, though. We’re still awaiting more details as to what the onboard dining experiences will be but we’ll be sure to update you as we learn more!
Disney has shared this piece of concept art that does give us a glimpse into what we can expect, though!
As you may know, “every window in the Halcyon – including those in each cabin – has a view of the galaxy beyond, with ever-changing vistas as the ship progresses from place to place.” And many of these cabins will feature bunk beds.
We have already chatted about the experience that will allow guests to learn to wield a lightsaber — you can read more about this experience here. But what we learned today is that Defense Systems will be in place on the ship just in case it gets into an epic space battle (!!). If this does happen, passengers will be able to practice using the defense equipment on the ship’s bridge.
You may spot recognizable faces like Rey, Chewy, and even Kylo Ren on board. But, be wary as to who you make allegiances with because your choices can affect your overall story both on the ship and during your adventure in Batuu.
Secret meetings based on your story will also take place during your time on the ship.
Speaking of your adventure to Batuu. Disney also shared a glimpse into the transport vehicles that will take guests from the starcruiser to the planet of Batuu. The vehicle looks like a large, gray box with blue thrusters. Inside you will find orange padded seats lining either side of the vehicle. This vehicle will help guests stay a part of the story as they venture off of the ship and into Galaxy’s Edge.

We do this because it’s important to us as journalists to ensure not only that we give you unbiased opinions, but also that you can trust us to do so since we’re paying our own way. On rare occasions, when we are invited by a company to attend a preview as media, and when we choose to accept that invitation, we will always make you, our readers, aware of that situation. Today, we were invited by Disney World to attend their media preview of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Note that when we attend events as media we are 1) Not required to review that event/food on any of our channels, and 2) Not required to review that event/food favorably. You can always count on DFB to give you a 100% unbiased and honest review of any event that we attend, food that we eat, or beverage that we drink. You can see more in our Disclosure Policy.
