The Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, AKA the Star Wars hotel, is about to officially open in Disney World — and we have a complete guide on everything you need to know.
One of the things we were most curious about on the ship was the food (duh!). We were able to try every single thing offered on the ship, and have brought you full reviews of breakfast, lunch, dinner, the snacks, and the lounge! While dining on this space food, we discovered an item that was surprisingly familiar…something unexpected, but very welcome while traveling around the galaxy.
There are CHEESEBURGER PODS in SPACE, you guys! This is not a drill — cheeseburger pods are now canon in the Star Wars universe, according to Disney.
During dinner on the ship, the kids menu has a variety of options from Cheese Pizza to Tip Yip Chicken Chunks, but they also have Chedd-Cheesy Beef Spiral Dumplings and Crispy Sliced Waffle Fries (that’s a mouthful, huh!). These might sound strange, but they are super similar to the cheeseburger pods we know and love from Satu’li Canteen in Animal Kingdom.
However, these actually seemed to have a bit MORE cheese, which is the one thing we sometimes think the ones at Satu’li could improve on. Comparing the two, the ones on the Galactic Starcruiser have some browning on top of the pods while the Satu’li ones do not.
But, the inside of both pods look pretty similar!
And, the waffle fries that come with the pods on the Galactic Starcruiser are like giant fried chunks of potatoes, which aren’t anything extraordinary, but fried potatoes are fried potatoes, so it’s hard to go wrong.
If you love the cheeseburger pods over at Satu’li, or just cheeseburgers in general, you should give these a try if you have an upcoming trip on the Starcruiser. They’re available on the kids dinner menu for both night 1 and night 2. You can add them on to your meal, or sneak a bite of your kids’ when they’re not looking. 😉
