If you’re into learning about all things Disney, a great way to do so is by tuning into the D23 Inside Disney Podcast!
The podcast covers a variety of topics, including new things going on in the parks and more. On the latest episode, the hosts were joined by a guest you may be familiar with — the Walt Disney Company’s CEO, Bob Chapek!
Topics covered in the podcast episode include the upcoming Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser experience (a.k.a. the Star Wars hotel), Disney+ Day (where he shares that the projects he’s looking forward to the most are Hawkeye and The Book of Boba Fett), the COVID-19 closures and what it was like to be standing on Main Street, U.S.A. on Disneyland’s reopening day, and a few sneak peeks at what fans can expect at this year’s Destination D23 event!
Chapek mentioned that “you’re going to have a sneak peek of the Disney 100 celebration launch at Destination D23.” The Walt Disney Company will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2023, which we’re sure is going to be one festive year!

What a joke. Disney’s 100th won’t be anything more than a merchandise grab if it’s anything like the travesty that is Walt Disney World’s 50th. Walt probably won’t receive mention – like WDW 50.
Walt has left (been kicked out of) the building. WDW 50 has been a sadly-absent commentary on the life of the amazingly gifted visionary who was Walter Elias Disney. Why should we expect more than a new logo, color scheme and merchandise people can’t bring themselves to ignore?
Please prove my reality-based cynicism wrong. Please!
Rob & Alan, both well said! Sad especially for those of us who remember Walt Disney & the great thinks he produced. THAT Disney is no longer.
It is said in the business world that a company completely changes after the third management reign. They ignore the history and original vision with designs on a “new” operation and public perception. Many large companies have failed due to management changing the future and disregarding the past. We must consider that Disney is not to big to fail. It is possible, that over time, it will turn to dust among the rubble of others who forgot who they were…”Once upon a time”.
