Ever since the parks reopened, we’ve slowly begun to see more offerings return.
The resorts reopened one by one and many restaurants opened their doors once again after being closed for months. We’re still in the progress of getting some of our favorites back, and today we learned about another one returning soon!
On February 17th, the beloved restaurant Jiko — The Cooking Place will be reopening at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge — Jambo House. Here, you’ll find “flavors of African, Indian, and Mediterranean cuisine” as you dine in an upscale setting.
Upon reopening, there will be some great menu items to try, like the Seafood Tangine. It’s made with prawns, scallops, squid, and Littleneck clams, so you seafood lovers will be over the moon! And for dessert, there’s the returning favorite, Kilimanjaro. According to Disney, it’s made with “decadent dark chocolate mousse, pistachio financier, pink peppercorn meringue, cacao nib crunch, and ras el hanout pineapples.” Wow, our mouths are watering already!
You’ll be able to make reservations for this restaurant (and several other reopening ones) starting on January 20th. We’ll keep you updated when reservations go live!
On top of Jiko reopening, it looks like the location’s lounge called Cape Town Lounge and Wine Bar will reopen as well! The Disney World website notes that the lounge will reopen on February 17th.

We’ll be back soon, Jiko!
We’ll be at Jiko on reopening night, so stay tuned to DFB for all the updates when February 17th rolls around. And keep following along for the latest Disney food news!
