The Disney Skyliner is one of the newest and most convenient transportation options in Disney World.
You get to board a gondola and travel through the sky — so it’s basically a ride outside of the parks! The Skyliner connects a few Disney World Resort hotels with two Disney Parks, but this transportation option will be unavailable for a few days. Find out if you’ll be affected on your next Disney World trip.
The Disney Skyliner lets guests travel between EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, along with a few Disney hotels, making it a really easy way to get around. The Disney World Resort hotels located on the Skyliner line include Disney’s Riviera Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, and Disney’s Pop Century Resort, and guests will have to use other transportation options to get to EPCOT for a short time.
Starting today, January 23rd, the Disney Skyliner’s EPCOT line is closed.

The Skyliner will be closed from January 23rd through January 28th, 2022 for a brief refurbishment. Refurbishment is a normal practice in Disney World to keep everything running smoothly, and sometimes that means attractions have to close for a short time.
There are signs posted around EPCOT as well as this notice located right outside the EPCOT International Gateway Skyliner station.
Keep in mind that the Hollywood Studios Skyliner line is still up and running, so guests can still board a Skyliner gondola at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and ride over to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Luckily, this closure is only temporary, and there are other ways to get to and from EPCOT and Disney’s Riviera Resort!
During the closure, guests will be able to use alternate transportation options to get around Disney World. Disney buses will be an option, as well as several other Disney modes of transportation! If you’re trying to get from Hollywood Studios to EPCOT, you can also walk or take a Friendship Boat if you don’t want to bus it.
The Skyliner is scheduled to reopen as usual on January 29th, 2022. Keep reading DFB to stay up to date on all Disney World closures!
