Over at Disney World, Extended Evening Hours has given Deluxe Resort and Deluxe Villa guests the chance to stay in parks like Magic Kingdom and EPCOT for an extra two hours past closing.
Alongside its sister program, Early Theme Park Entry, this has brought us a lot more time in the parks! Although this service is pretty convenient, it’s been generally limited to only two parks since its launch last year. But soon that is going to change!
Disney World’s website now lists Hollywood Studios for a future Extended Evening Hours offering! With so many big-ticket attractions at the park, this could be a huge deal for anyone eligible to use the service. Let’s take a look at what we know so far about this news.
Taking a look at Disney World’s Extended Evening Hours schedule, we noticed that all the way down at the bottom of the list, there is now one Extended Evening Hours date listed for Hollywood Studios on Wednesday, April 13th. Although it might seem like a small thing, this could mean huge changes to how you schedule your Disney day!
As always, with one answer comes a million new questions. What rides will be open during the extended hours? How will this affect wait times during the day?
As of the time of writing this post, Disney has NOT listed the rides that will be available as part of Extended Evening Hours at this park, which does seem a bit strange. It’s likely that Disney will update its page with that information later, but we will be on the lookout for any changes or news.
Still, this is very exciting news, especially for anyone heading to Disney World in mid-April! We’ll keep you posted with all the newest details.

We reviewed Disney Crocs after wearing them all day in the parks! Here's our thoughts.
I hope they do each of the 3 parks each week so that a visitor coming in for a 7-day vacation would be able to do all of the late hours. Also, I hope the schedule is set week to week (like, MK on Monday, EPCOT on Tuesday, HS on Thursday) as long as you still have to make park reservations ahead of time.
That is exciting! I was just talking to my husband about this the other day. I predicted they would add HS to extended hours when Fantasmic returns, so maybe this will also be happening?
Great news release to see! Any tips on planning based on this list of dates/times of extended evening hours? Are they released/published on a pretty predictable schedule? Does Disney sometimes change which park is on which day after initial publishing? Dates aren’t out yet for my trip and I don’t want to miss the chance to schedule around them. Thanks!
Are the extended park hours Still only for the guests staying at Disney Deluxe resorts? Is Disney Ever going to change this policy back to include ALL Disney resorts again? Staying on property is great, but Expensive! The most important perk for us was extended hours in the park. We travel by car and get dropped off as close to the park gates as possible. So we don’t need Disney transportation, Which can take Alot of precious park time when staying at Disney budget resorts.
I can rent a 3 to 5 bedroom house with a private pool near Walt Disney World for the same price as a Pop Century room. If extended hours don’t come back to the budget resorts, we’re not coming back unless we stay off-property in a house. The houses have full kitchens, 2-5 bathrooms, game rooms, free parking, washer & dryer, & a blessed quiet screened-in pool. Many have Disney theming With Mickey or Cars or Toy Story or princess blankets & drapery. Even Disney rooms don’t have that anymore. So does anyone know what DISNEY intends to do next with extended park hours?
Hi Ann! Disney has not yet released any other information on extended hours, but we will be sure to update if they do!
