Punxsutawney Phil may have predicted 6 more weeks of winter (boooo), but there are already some summer flavors happening in Disney World!
This is probably due to Valentine’s Day, because strawberries and chocolate just seem to be the move when it comes to the holiday of love. Chocolate covered strawberries are coming soon to multiple spots in Disney World, and we’ll even soon see the return of that chocolate and strawberry Dole Whip we tried last year! Now, there’s a new strawberry sweet over in Disney Springs that we recently got to try out!
This is the Strawberry Cake Donut from Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew in Disney Springs! It’s a limited time offering, so you know we had to get over there to taste it for ourselves. This is a strawberry cake donut with a light glaze on the outside. Seems simple enough, right?
This donut had a slightly crunchy exterior and was perfectly soft on the inside! It also wasn’t too dense, like a lot of cake donuts can be.
But, after a few bites, the strawberry flavor did begin to taste a bit more artificial than we would’ve liked. We did find a lot of tiny strawberry pieces on the inside, though, so it’s not all artificial flavor!
If you’re a fan of strawberries and cake donuts, you should love this treat! But, if you’re more a fan of yeast donuts (like the heaven that’s Krispy Kreme), this one isn’t for you. Also, if you hate the taste of artificial fruit flavor, maybe try something else, like an actual chocolate covered strawberry from Amorette’s.
If you want to try this donut, you can head on over to Everglazed and get it for $4.75, but hurry, because this is only a seasonal menu item and we don’t know how long it will be on the menu! Stay tuned to DFB for more Disney food news and reviews.
