Sneak Peek at ‘The Little Mermaid’ Show Coming to the Disney Wish Cruise Ship

Even if you’ve never been on a Disney Cruise, chances are you’ve been hearing a lot about the Disney Wish.

The newest ship in Disney’s fleet will have some amazing NEW features, including Disney’s first attraction at sea, a Frozen dining experience, a Marvel dining experience, a Star Wars-themed lounge, and more! It will also have a brand new stage adaptation of The Little Mermaid — and Disney just released a first look at the show!

Disney The Little Mermaid is an all-NEW take on the original 1989 film. Disney just shared the first concept art of the show, and let’s just say, we want to be part of that world!

The Broadway-style production is exclusive to the Disney Wish and will include iconic scenes from the movie, everyone’s favorite characters, and a cast of actors putting their own spin on the story. It “will feature innovative theatrical design, dazzling special effects, artistic choreography, and a reimagined script and score that will surprise and delight guests of all ages.”

Disney also promises a huge production with “Under The Sea” — puppetry will be used to bring the characters to life. There will also be “playful scenic designs” and “state-of-the-art video projections.” During “Kiss The Girl,” the audience will be “visually transported into the scene.” Disney also mentions that although Ariel can’t speak during this part of the story, her “inner voice will play an important and meaningful role in the song.”
