Since 2020, we’ve seen Disney Parks close due to the ongoing global health crisis.
Some parks have closed and reopened, while others have closed, reopened, and closed again. Now, one Disney Park is closing its doors completely to guests as of tomorrow due to the situation with COVID-19.
Shanghai Disneyland Resort will close as of March 21st due to COVID-19. The last closure at this Disney resort was in fall of 2021 when Shanghai Disney temporarily suspended entry into the parks.
When we checked, we noticed that the resort’s calendar is not showing any hours for the park indefinitely.
We also did not see any tickets available for the park until March 23rd.
Shanghai Disney Resort recently added a COVID-19 testing requirement to enter the parks — guests must present a negative test within 24 hours of arriving. Disney also added that the parks are operating at a limited capacity, rides will operate at a lower capacity, and all shows are temporarily suspended.
UPDATE: Shanghai Disney is now also requiring that all guests present proof of a negative NAT test taken within the previous 48 hours before entering the Shanghai Disneyland Hotel or the Toy Story Hotel.

Guests who have tickets to visit Shanghai Disneyland on or after March 21st through the closure can use those tickets to visit the park on any other day within six months from the validity date of the ticket after its reopening. Guests who cannot visit the park within six months can obtain a refund (check the Shanghai Disneyland website for more details). For now, both resort hotels will operate as normal, but guests can change or cancel their stays by contacting whoever they initially reserved those rooms with.
Guests who have any questions about their tickets can contact the resort. We’ll continue to keep an eye on the situation and let you know more details when we have them.
