The day has arrived. 😮
We’ve seen all kinds of menu changes impact a variety of restaurants in Disney World. From menu items being entirely removed, to price increases, and new items being added — it’s a big time for change in Disney World when it comes to food. Now, a super popular drink from Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge that we had been keeping a very close eye on for a while has DISAPPEARED. Here’s what we know so far.
Back in May, we shared that some changes may soon impact the iconic Fuzzy Tauntaun drink from Oga’s Cantina in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. This drink is typically one you’d find at Oga’s Cantina in both Disney World and Disneyland.
The Fuzzy Tauntaun
If you’re not familiar with it, this drink is made with Cîroc Peach Vodka, Bols Peach Schnapps, Simply® Orange with Tangerine, Pure Cane Sugar, and “Buzz Button Tingling” Foam. The drink is well known and loved by many fans particularly because the Buzz Button foam makes your mouth go numb when drinking it!
How is it able to do this? Well there is an ingredient mixed into the foam that is a natural painkiller. It comes from a Szechuan flower known as “Buzz Buttons.” The numbing sensation you’ll feel is very entertaining and unique, but it does wear off pretty quickly (so don’t worry about having a numb mouth while flying the Millennium Falcon!).
Again, the drink’s effect (and great peach flavor) attracts many to it, but now you may not be able to get it!
What Happened Before
Back in May, the drink was REMOVED from the menu at Oga’s Cantina in Disneyland. A Cast Member told us there had been some “embargo” issues impacting their ability to get things from other planets. That sounded like it could potentially be a supply chain issue (though that wasn’t explicitly confirmed).
Over at Disney World, the drink was still available in May, but a Cast Member did say that they were planning on changing the foam that is used in the drink. A Cast Member later told us that the flower used for the drink’s unique effect was going “extinct,” but that Disney was working quickly to find something to replace it and were testing formulas behind the scenes. At that time, the Cast Member said that their #1 goal was to keep the drink on the menu.
Now, things have CHANGED.
What’s Happening Now!
On June 30th, 2022, we went back to Oga’s Cantina in Disney World and asked about the Fuzzy Tauntaun. A Cast Member there told us that the drink was NO longer available! Two more Cast Members also confirmed this, as well as a leader at the location.
The Cast Members we spoke to said that they were not sure if it would be coming back, but that it “might.”
Interestingly, the drink is still listed on the menu for Oga’s Cantina online for Disney World, but, again, according to the Cast Members we spoke to, it is not available. The drink is still removed from the Disneyland menu for Oga’s Cantina.
Of course, keep in mind that this is just what we heard from the Cast Members we spoke to. Things are, of course, subject to change. Be sure to check and see what the situation is like during your visit.
If there are in fact supply chain issues or other problems Disney is experiencing with some of the ingredients used for the drink, particularly the reported “extinction” of the flower used for the numbing effect, it could be a while before we see this drink back on the menu (if in fact it’s able to return at all).
UPDATE (July 18th): When we recently spoke to a Cast Member, we were informed that, while the drink is still unavailable, they were hoping to get a shipment soon with the necessary ingredients to bring back the Fuzzy TaunTaun.
We will continue to keep a close eye on all of the updates with this situation and we’ll let you know what we find. In the meantime, if you’re heading to Oga’s Cantina and looking for an alternative drink to pick, you could try some of the more underrated drinks at this place or go for something like the Jet Juice or the Jedi Mind Trick, which have been favorites of ours in the past!

not sure when this article was written; but, I was in Disney World, in late September, 2023 with friends – we ALL enjoyed the Fuzzy Tauntaun, at Oga’s Cantina

Yes! The Fuzzy Tauntaun is back! Seems like they were having trouble getting some of the ingredients back in 2022 and it went missing for a bit, but it’s back and as good as ever.
