Pandora — The World of Avatar
On December 12th, a completely new light show debuted in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and we were there to capture the first event.
To celebrate the long-awaited sequel to Avatar, there’s a new light show on the iconic Tree of Life in Animal Kingdom. The classic Tree of Life Awakening has a new twist that features scenes and characters from Avatar: The Way of Water while still celebrating the wonder of nature.

We got a sneak peek of the new Avatar film right on the Tree of Life!
Right at sunset, the Tree of Life began to awaken as a dazzling display lit up the trunk, branches, and leaves. We even got to see a sneak peek of the new film through the scenes and characters included in the show.
It was pretty stunning.
The colors and lights were spectacular and the theming fit perfectly with the park’s focus on nature and conservation. We think this is a great way to wrap up your day at Animal Kingdom, and a unique show that you won’t get to see frequently. If the Tree of Life Awakening has gotten you excited for Avatar: The Way of Water, you don’t have to wait much longer! The movie will premiere on December 16th and you can get your tickets now.
Some darker and richer colors on display
The Tree of Life Awakening will begin at sunset in Animal Kingdom each day, so if you’re planning on catching this display in person, make sure you’ve nestled yourself somewhere in view of the tree!
