Many Annual Passholders are Orlando (or at least Florida) residents who enjoy visiting the parks regularly.
Disney World has just made it easier for Passholders to take more spontaneous trips!
Disney realized many Passholders like having the option to just visit the parks on short notice. This has been more difficult since the introduction of the Park Pass Reservation system, where guests are required to reserve a spot in the park of their choice prior to being allowed entry.
Now, they have relaxed the rules! Disney revealed today that they will be allowing Annual Passholders to enter the parks after 2PM without a reservation. However, there are some exceptions!
Passholders will still need to schedule reservations for Saturdays and Sundays in Magic Kingdom. Just as there are some blackout dates when Passholders can’t book, these will likely apply as well. This change for Annual Passholders will begin on April 18th, 2023.Â

Hopefully they will do this for Disneyland Resort some time soon. Most of Disneland Resort pass members are locals (living less tna an hour away), so the reservation system ruins the spontaneity of a last minute visit.
Great change, but they should have made it 11AM, not 2PM. Locals like to visit for lunch but 2PM is past lunchtime.
There were many many times I would have hopped over to EPCOT to eat lunch but couldn’t because hopping wasn’t allowed until 2PM… so I just left and ate lunch outside Disney.
So, IN MAGIC KINGDOM. I’m assuming that’s being used generically? I’m wondering where Epcot falls into this rule.
Hmmm… well this puts a huge cramp in my outings to Disneyworld. We were annual passholders for years and our schedule was Animal Kingdom in the morning. Then by 10 or 11 zip over to Hollywood studios. at 2 it’s over to epcot …then dinner at Cali grill..early…then some nighttime fun at the magic kingdom.
Oh well.. times change.
The next step should be eliminating park reservations for annual passholders. That’s the whole idea of an annual pass – to go when we want.
Of all the changes this is 2.5 stars. This is a toss to Florida AP’s.
Really wish they would have at least did what they did for Disneyland – change the time of park hopping.
I’d prefer park hopping be allowed at anytime but 2pm is ridiculous.
I wonder if you have a reservation do you need to tap into the first before going to the 2nd or can you just go to the park at 2pm regardless if you have a Park Reservation. Or would you need to cancel that reservation first – or will the system throw a flag because you didn’t tap in or cancel.
Who cares, as an annual pass holder for the last 15 years , leave finally made the decision to walk away from Disney. This past trip solidified my decision. On this busy weekend two rides are down in Hollywood Studios . You start waiting for a ride that has a 35 min wait only to have it extended as other LL people swamp to the open rides. I am done filling there greedy pockets and financing the bad business decisions they make.
